Even please put a coolant reroute on the car the Miatas keep the first two cylinder are cool, but the rear cylinders usually overheat, especially with a turbo! Love the content I’m glad you back!

The Miata cooling system is kinda jank. Coolant enters the block at the front and leaves like 6 inches away. The back of 1.6/1.8L blocks can have issues on piston 4 over heating once a turbo is in. She might not be in high performance but the turbo will inherently make more heat. Stock rad and cooling setup might struggle on hot days especially in Texas.

For boosted Miata’s you for sure want injectors/fuel pump and a good ecu like a megasquirt since they’re easy to tune on and every tuner I’ve met knows the software

I would highly recommend a oil/air separator with the stock PCV system and run the breather to a catch can or another oil/ air separator depending on your setup for stock turbo application.

I bought an eBay turbo kit for my 1997 Civic coupe when it had the D15B in it and it lasted for 15k miles at 8-10 psi NO PROBLEM. Then I swapped in a B18B1 non-VTEC from a base model Integra and all I bought was a new log manifold, but I used the same turbo, and I even chopped up and reused the 3" downpipe with the help of my flux-core welder. That eBay turbo went on to make 412 whp at 18 psi with my freshly rebuilt, built head (BC cams and dual valve springs) and it never smoked or faltered. I sold it to a friend who boosted it over 25 psi on his first pass with it and he blew his engine up...but the turbo was still fine. I fully built a LSVTEC and put a Turbonetics on it and it went on to make 709 whp at 34 psi. That was my baby, and I was forced to part ways with her. 😢😢😢

advance ignition timing to 14° by moving the CAS (Cam Angle Sensor) and jumping the TEN to GND in the OBD box. if you give it a little more fuel like that it shouldn’t cut! i have a miata of my own and 14° is even kinda rich for my NA motor.
