Abaco was an italian composer. He learned violin and cello from Torelli. His tendency towards the french style comes from the period in which he resided in Modena and had relations with Ambreville, french orchestra director. Becomes a cellist at the Bavarian court. The defeat of Maximiano II suffered against the Spaniards makes him travel to Holland.Later on return to Bavaria, he was promoted to Concerto Director. His music is based on the works of Vivaldi and Corelli. He composed about 36 sonatas and 14 concerts. Of these, op 5and 6 are called piu instruments concerts. The orchestra and its direction are amazing. The joy of living and the harmony transmitted are sublime. Thanks for these moments of pure pleasure and delight that this recording conveys us.

Heh heh..."had relations with" is an english idiom for "coitus." Is that what you meant, or just that he worked with Ambreville while in Modena?

Este concierto me ha encantado, y es literal, ha producido un encanto en mi que lo llevo dando vueltas en mi cabeza. Habitualmente ando en moto por el tránsito de Buenos Aires, y mentalmente escucho este concierto en mi cabeza, sin necesidad de auriculares. Muy placentero el andar en moto y escuchar mentalmente la ciaconna. 😊

@@alessandrolupi8895 davvero. Misteri commerciali, chissà come mai ricomincia a vivere solo ora dopo vivaldi, albinoni, marcello, lotti e caldara ma anche dopo i vari zavatteri, tessarini, alberti, ecc che non mi sembrano molto più interessanti, anzi....

@@alessandrofinozzi8265 Fra i vari compositori di quell'epoca, a mio avviso meriterebbe maggior risalto anche Bonporti. Sono soltanto un musicofilo, quindi mi esprimo esclusivamente per gusto personale, ma i suoi concerti per archi mi piacciono particolarmente.

@@alessandrolupi8895 si certo, concordo, si riferisce forse alle sonate a quattro ? Grande drammaticità. Anch'io sono un musicofilo e non un professionista, ma forse per godere della musica (qualunque musica) forse non è necessario esserlo. Almeno dal punto di vista emozionale.... Certo un professionista avrà le conscenze per godere di aspetti tecnici che non sono in grado di comprendere ed apprezzare, ma in ogni caso io penso che come fatto non semantico debba prevalere il godimento del cuore e dell'anima. In fondo la musica é questo.... Conosce, coevi anche se in ambito non veneto, Ariosti e Barsanti ?

@@alessandrofinozzi8265 Esatto, Concerti a quattro op. XI. Il Barsanti lo conosco, ho una registrazione in CD di alcuni concerti, se non erro. Molto gradevole ed elegante. Mentre dell'Ariosti ne ho soltanto sentito parlare ma non ho mai avuto il piacere di ascoltare nulla. Per il resto concordo con lei. Anch'io sono ben lungi dal saper cogliere tutti quegli aspetti, più o meno rilevanti, che un professionista saprebbe individuare facilmente in un brano musicale, ma come dice giustamente, l'arte mira all'anima...

Interesting, are they improvised oboe parts? They arent in the manuscript, which is very specifically strings only. No matter, your additions sounds really good and in keeping. Really enjoyed this.

I'm performing this tomorrow on oboe, and we're doing basically the same thing as they are--1st and 2nd violin parts with some edits/additions/improvisations of our own. We didn't want to be left out of the fun!
