When I served in the Air Force as an aircrew member an Army Ranger was invited to brief us on the tactical portions of evasion. How to move without being seen or mitigate detection when holing up. He made quite an impression and we learned a lot from him. I remember thinking after he left that the enemy doesn't stand a chance against a large force of Rangers with a mission to destroy anything in their way.

It depends . The S.African SASP in Angola had a hard time because the Enemy used to hunt ther and was used to follow Tracks , and that country they knew very well . Not like the SASP .

The first Rangers at the battle of Anzio were sent too far forward while too lightly armed, and something like 700 were captured by crack German armored troops. Hitler then sent his most elite troops to push the American troops into the Med, but the 34th (Red Bull) Division stopped the Germans in hand-to-hand fighting. Hopefully the too-lightly-armed days are over. The greatest American trainer of soldiers, General "Iron MIke" O'Daniel, trained the first American Rangers in Scotland and Ireland. The training and the Rangers are still the toughest!

@@baronedipiemonte3990 What blows me away is that only the tiny guys would fit and at times the plane would have to land with damaged landing gear, or if the pod was damaged and couldn't be rotated so the gunner could get out the poor guy was simply smeared onto the runway when it landed....and yet men STILL GOT IN IT ANYWAY. Again, how did they fit their giant titanium balls in?

That tip to use the "hide site" as a shelter against the weather, not just for "tactical" purposes, is one of the most sensible military-inspired tips I've heard so far. I think I'll just call it a "shelter site" or "safety site" for my own, civilian purposes. Thanks!

Up popped a ranger out of a coconut grove, he was the most knowledgeable veteran you can tell by his clothes. Well he tells you 100 sentences per minute, and I will follow him because he has the content, i like his style as well. Because he can talk so fast in his explanation. Y’all better pay attention to what this man is telling us. Sound off, 1234. Cadence has a purpose! It doesn’t rhyme but you get the message! Good job Andrew.

Great informative content thanks for the upload! Related to this topic - but not reported in English-speaking or many other media - an ex-Belgian special forces guy has been on the run in a national park in Belgium for 2 weeks now, after having (allegedly) threatened the Belgian govts chief covid advisor, he's portrayed as a ''right wing extremist''. Somehow he was able to access the armoury in an army barracks in Belgium and as well as pistols, automatic weapons plus ammo, he's equipped with 66mm LAWs. His car was found parked near a national park bordering Netherlands & Germany and since then not only police of all 3 countries but also military from Belgium and German GSG9 are looking for him, yet he's so far evaded capture despite the park being only 46 square miles. It does have a number of bunker complexes from WW2 and before. His name is Jurgen Conings if anyone's interested. RT have briefly covered the story, most of the rest of the coverage is in Dutch, Belgian and German media.

I remember going over all this when I was in ranger training. I still temember it. Last bugout exercise I did was Friday night. Made a shelter between 2 fallen trees. Put my gear under a camo tarp and covered the tarp with surrounding foilage. I enjoyed it. Came back today Sunfay like I do every week. Had blackbird jambalya in the woods. Made my fire with corn oil. Very lottle to no smoke anf leave a nice bed of coals to keep warm with no reflection. Good video. Good job. Enjoyed. Rangers clear the way Charles

Not to denigrate the good people of the Army (like the Captain), I broke family tradition and went in another branch which has what I consider a much fairer and promising enlisted promotion and career opportunities. The Army, intentionally or no, has forced attrition because of the E-4 Specialist rank, and it's odd NCO promo system. No other branches have the "E-4 mafia", which is a direct result of the failed system. Many great soldiers were "lost" because of it. If my Dad, Great Grandfather, Uncle,Bro in law who were ALL in the Army from WW1 to Vietnam, thier final rank ranging from Master Sergeant to General, were alive, they'd agree with me. If I hadn't have been hit by a drunk driver, I'd have been retired as a Chief Warrant now. I have a degree and didn't want a Commission for a few reasons, one of which was my branch's inequitable Officer promo system. But to be honest, I'm not sure that any system, anywhere is perfect. Just some less than others...

@@baronedipiemonte3990 Interesting comment...I was in the Army in the 1980's, wasn't exactly smitten with it, no one else in my family had ever been in the Army that I know of. The "up or out" is a real thing, saw plenty of people of tossed out because they failed to make rank. At the same time, the higher you go the more political it becomes, even as an E-5 after 4 years I could see the road ahead wasn't simply based on merit. I got out and went on with life.
