Hi Mark, I've ran into similar things before which is probably something with MikroTik's code not integrating properly with EVE-NG. Generally if I encounter this error and I just turn off the MikroTik and turn it back on it is fixed. Also if you are using EVE-NG Pro you sometimes need to go into the CLI twice before you can enter any commands. It is really strange and frustrating errors at times, but generally worked around with what I've just written.

Thanks for getting back to me. The image that I downloaded was chr-6.47.1. I then went to an older image chr-6.40.9. Upload it and started it. That worked for me. I could login and add an IP address to interface. I could access the Mikrotik via winbox or web browser.

Hello, unfortunately I am not sure how you would be able to do this. I expect if you run DDNS on the MikroTiks on the EVE-NG VM on the Cloud you could potentially connect to them if you are using different ports. I've also heard of a tool/site called remotewinbox, which is supposed to be effective with connecting to devices behind a NATTED service. I haven ever personally used this so cannot recommend or validate that it'll work, but maybe something to check out or google. Wish you luck with connecting via Winbox and I will definitely try and replicate this if I ever host an EVE-NG VM on Google Cloud.

Yes, though if you want to get used to switching I would recommend using either Cisco IOL images or Cisco VIRL images, the first being preferred as it's based off of linux with the Cisco OS just running over it. Just talks better with Virtual networks :)

If the devices are going grey again that means that they could possibly not have enough resources or the OS could not load. What are the specs of your EVE-NG server and how much ram/cpu do you have assigned for the MikroTiks? The minium is 256Mb ram and 1 CPU to run a MikroTik in EVE-NG. If you do have enough resources I would recommend re-importing the router, make sure that you download the latest ISO from MikroTik's website and covert the file inside EVE-NG. If you don't come right please try following this written guide on the official EVE-NG site www.eve-ng.net/index.php/documentation/howtos/howto-add-mikrotik-cloud-router/ And if this still fails I recommend logging a ticket with the EVE-NG support team :)

I had same issue, fixed it by enable nested VT-x/AMD-V(V)

Either you have not allocated enough resources or you have not renamed the image to virtioa.qcow2, please makes sure you follow all the steps exactly.

The UNL Wrappers is not such a vital command when bringing a MikroTik online, what happens when you start the MikroTik and access it in EVE?

Hi, from your errors you usually get that if you make a typo with the image name. Please make sure that when you do the MV command that you use virtioa.qcow2 Sometimes you might miss a letter and make it something like virtoa.qcow2 (missing the second i after the t) and this will cause the errors you are having.

Are you using VMWARE to run the EVE-NG Server and what type of resource allocation do you have? Please also reach out to the EVE-NG support team by visiting their site and finding the contact support to give them the details @eve-ng.net. I know that importing a CHR this way works 100% on both Pro and Community editions.

@@TheNetworkBerg I am using vmware pro and eve-ng community ovf version. On my main os i have only 8gb ram available so i allocated 2 gb for eve-ng, maybe it's not enough. I used mobaxterm to connect to the router over telnet. Of course before connecting i created microtik node and clicked start. Intel VT-x is enabled in vmware and it's supported by my hardware I need eve-ng because i want to emulate VPN network if there is other images, please tell me where i can download them. I can't find huawei images

@@user-mt1hg6lr1z That should be more than enough resources. Huawei unfortunately doesn't really share their OS for their routers and switches. I know they have their own emulator that you can download to emulate their equipment with, though I have not used this myself before. I would really just reach out to the EVE-NG Support team about this issue you are having with the MikroTik image as it should just work if you followed the steps in this video. I recently even spun up a new EVE-NG Community edition server on my machine during a live stream to show people how quick and easy it is to get EVE-NG up and running as well as importing a CHR. You can check out my first live stream episode as that should be where I did it as well.
