I bought and installed the exactly same radio and i am very pleased with it so far. I didn't even have to even buy the Steering wheel adapter and used the 2 steering wheels Input wires from the radio so it was quite easy. The only problem i noticed is that after the install, my VIPER auto start would not start and light would blink 8 times so i have to figure this out what wire needs to connected. I have 2014 KIA Sorento 3.3

here is a warning, DO NOT do a factory reset, the radio will delete things. my pre installed navigation system with maps was gone after i did a factory reset.

Phone compatibility won’t matter too much. If it has android auto you won’t have any issues.

Great Video. Good content. Lousy product. Make sure you buy the asurian insurance. I had to return my radio after 3 months. It’s really crap. Too many bugs. I would stop to fuel up and leave my phone plugged in after restarting my vehicle the radio would be locked. Sometimes the radio wouldn’t even turn off after shutting the vehicle off and it would literally stay locked all night long I would have to pull the fuse to reset it. Out of the box and installed in my vehicle. The display was really really highlighted and I couldn’t adjusted to get a good color. I have a Bose system in my truck and after installing this radio the music sounded muffled. I’m glad I bought the insurance. Buyers be aware.

Thank you for a great review. I bought and installed one after watching this video. I do have an issue with volume control while using a carplay, it is really loud even at Level 1 and I cannot make it quieter. Same issue exists while listening to the FM radio. But once I use Bluetooth as a connection method, I can control the sound in more precise way from really low to high. Any idea on what can be an issue? Thank you.

@@thehighercalling943 No I have not done it. Actually this problem only occurs when I listen Spotify via CarPlay, but everything works just fine when I just connect my phone via bluetooth.

It's peak power, realistically you want to look at RMS power, and these no-name brands will do between 10-15 watts per channel RMS each, not much better than stock. Sounds pretty good.

Do you know if the video out will just duplicate of the screen? All the units I look at do that. Not helpful when you want navigation in the front and to play a movie for the kids in the back

you will need the stereo wiring harness that adapts to the factory wires in your vehicle. look up “metra stereo wiring harness 18 sorento”, should be like $10

Is it possible to re-route that USB without opening the device up? My 2016 Elantra has a USB data port for the current radio, but it is a pretty basic radio and I'd like to replace it. I want to wire that USB to the new radio, but it looks like I might have to crack it open and do some soldering if I got this unit.

I'd strongly recommend going with a budget Brand name unit, like a boss if budget is a concern. they have the USB ports on the rear and a decent warranty.

I bought one of these stereos, but I cant figure out how to connect the RCA jacks from a metra 70-8113 adapter to it to get th speakers to work. WOuld you happen to know where the RCA jacks would go connected to the back of the stereo? The unit powers on, the front and back cameras work, but no sound... Thanks.

doesnt stop, but volume goes down very low. so you can see/hear whats going on around you while backing up. safety thing. expensive Carplay units do the same.

If you are going for the no-name branded android based radio on the cheap, we have had the best success with this one. If you can afford it, try and go brand name like Pioneer, Sony, Kenwood, Alpine, etc. Much better quality.

Yep, it's a gamble with these no name branded units. Sometimes you luck out and they last for longer than a year, other times you may get a lemon. I'd reach out to the manufacture for assistance.

Yes, it has a sub pre-out for an bass amp. Reliability can be hit and miss with any no-name non-branded unit from china. You get what you pay for in car audio.

It still does the output voltage through a mono rca port. Just put in an rca splitter and you will be fine.

Volume knobs in themselves are becoming harder to find, and most brand name units have dropped the volume knob (except some entry level Sony units, but they won't have wireless carplay). The only potential there is a non-branded Chinese android unit that may have a volume knob and wireless carplay.

Alternatively, you can get a brand name carplay unit (Sony, Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, etc), and use a wireless dongle conversion adapter amzn.to/3j2sZWA

You can't just open carpaly and push 1 single button and say "it works fine" haha. While you were dialoging, you should've been just pushing different buttons on carplay to acutally try it vs staring at the carplay homescreen. How to engage siri??

I bought this radio based on this review. Problem 1. At first, all it did was produce a whining sound that rose and lowered with the RPMs. The subwoofer amp was the problem so I bypassed it. Problem 2. My remote did not work. The battery goes in with positive side DOWN. Problem 3. Radio arrived with a cracked screen and touch screen would not work. While I waited for a replacement, I used the remote, but it is cumbersome at best. Just got the replacement, no cracked screen, but.... Problem 4. The touch screen does not work. Better to buy local for twice the price and THEY can take the f*cker in and out to replace it!!!! I will say the backup camera works well. Problem 5. If you plan to use Apple Car Play, buy the 3.5mm external mic, because built in mic SUCKS!!!!
