It just felt like the writers ran out of ideas, and made some weird decisions, and in all of that I forgot just how damn funny the previous seasons were.

0:54 okay can we talk about how this episode was crazy cinematic and set up a really cool community just for it to go absolutely nowhere. Script quality on that episode just jumped from 20% to 80%. Did anyone tell the directors and writers of that episode that they were writing for a show with notoriously low standards and not a blockbuster movie? Like I would watch an entire show based on that episode. Sam and Dean cameos would be nice but did anyone else feel that episode was totally out of place? It just didn't feel Supernatural. It was like we suddenly jumped sideways into a different show.

It is TOTALLY this kind of writing and the actor’s delivery that kept viewer numbers and fans growing. Like discovering little gems in every episode!!
