There are some fucked up parts but you can skip it pretty fast by pressing ctrl its like 95% vanilla so skip it if you don't want to watch the scene And the revenge you do on the bad guys in the end is awesome.

I mean, it kinda is wholesome, as far as AliceSoft goes. They're really good at disguising some really dark stuff as if they aren't. Rance series for example is set in a world with literal JRPG mechanics made by a bored sociopathic God who draws amusement from tragedies and bloodshed, where literally everyone goes to hell as part of their reincarnation cycle except for souls so contaminated by negative emotion that he can't recycle. Compared to that a flawed well-intended system made by a traumatized goddess that led to a world that doesn't know war is outright wholesome.

But most of the time Rance series is just a hilarious black comedy driven by a man who couldn't understand why rape is wrong (I'm serious - he literally couldn't understand why it is wrong, hence why an instant-kill effect based on sin, guilt, and negativity literally do not work on him). Sengoku Rance (aka Rance VII) was a great introduction to the series for international players - doubt anyone would care about the series if any other Rance games were translated first.

Unironically, this game is actually quite fun and well written, and the art are pretty well drawn (also, Kathryn best waifu) Also, the green haired bowling ball (different from that one that got eaten) that got sausage'd twice still lives well in an outlaw refuge and the h scene with the eaten bowling ball part is a recording, which explains why Aster and his wives weren't able to intervene (it's also in Chapter 4, which is quite far away from game start and probably took me a week of all nighters to reach that point) Altho that eaten bowling ball h scene is still nowhere comparable to something horrendous that happened at Chapter 5, I'll leave it for you to find it out

And the hero and his wives aren't participating in any of the awful stuff, in fact they try to prevent it where they can. Not for the faint of heart, but you are unambiguously the good guy, unlike in the Rance series.

This man got me into this game with the sheer ridiculousness of the premise, and I actually liked the game. the really edgy scenes were super uncomfortable but I respected the fact that they told a good story with no filter at all, it was a new experience but at least I was prepared going in. it was my first eroge and def not my last I got into visual novels and eroges because of this video, I didn't really know about eroges/visual novels beforehand but there's some really good stuff, I'm reading the fate series rn and it is epic, credit to seth for that one. I also played some decent eroge games but this one is my favorite so far, I'm hoping for a translation of the 2nd game to come out soon been waiting on that for a bit hopefully he reviews that one too. I don't know what happens in it but considering it got banned from steam and the first one did not it is kind of scaring me xD.

As a person who has played the game from start to finish, let my confirm, the warnings are real. The game gets dark. Very, very dark. Unless you are a masochist, enjoy specifically this type of content or have balls of titanium, maybe stay 5ft apart from this one.
