@Une belle matinée d'été ! An interesting observation which could very well be true. I'm not sure that I liked her evening gown though. In fact, I really think that Brazil could do a lot better with their designs at Miss Universe. They are not only a wealthy nation but they also have some tremendous architectural, cultural and natural sources to inspire their compositions. Haiti's gown suited her shape and fitted her to perfection.

Fun fact #2 about evening gown competition: top 3 contestants was taken from each trios, more important is that who weared golden gowns made the top 3 positions. I really like france, haiti, and columbia 's gown. 🥰

@Waku Santiago Yeah! Actually the Mall of Asia arena is too big for that event. And the Philippines is following all the standards of Miss Universe. And the stage is Copied of the Previous Miss Universe event held in Las Vegas Nevada USA.

@@Dave_0629 Actually I recently found out only a few months ago that the reason why it wasn’t held at the Philippine Arena was because it is a catholic owned arena and they did not allow the swimsuit competition to be there…

Is not only about the public appearances or the coronation night... interviews count too, the offcamera moments and I could go on. By example, in the top 3 of the 2016 edition , Colombia had a better swimsuit presentation than Haiti (she was great but Colombia was best) but guess what... Haiti ended up first runner up. We have to keep in mind that competition is not only about what airs on t.v., but it's more than that .

For me personally one of the most epic dresses that has been worn in Miss Universe is the one worn by Thailand that year. It was soooo unexpected -------- edgy yet beautiful and sophisticated. For me that is one of my fave Miss U gowns in recent years... aside from the Lava Gown of Cat.

Here's my personal top! 9. Canada: I think it's very cool that Siera is embracing her appearance and her curves at that moment, because of the body shaming and all, BUT to choose an outfit - yet really beautiful - that is not flattering her 'cause it's enhancing her body curves, what a wrong move! She looked even curvier than she actually was, and that gown seemed to be heavy and really uncomfortable to wear. Sorry, it's a no-no for me. 🙃 8. Haiti: I personally was quite disappointed when she appeared, and it's mostly because of her gown, that I don't really appreciate, it gives me a non-finished vibe. It almost made me forget how much Raquel was beautiful and impactful that night and why she was the 1st RU. She did great, but this gown is way too distracting imo 😕 7. Philippines: The performance of Maxine was... Okay. And when it's about Philippines, being okay is NOT GOOD 😂 Plus, her gown was good, but Philippines is usually sending heavy material when it comes to dresses, and this one was not the best, I'm damn sure of that. 6. USA: The fierceness and confidence of Deshauna while she was walking is what's saving her performance imo. She could have chose a better gown, even though it's a better gown than the one she wore for prelims. But I like the fact that this red-brown like gown is matching well her skin tone, at such point that it's a little bit distracting to me 😅 5. México: Kristal was a big contender that night, and that grey-silver sexy gown was E-VE-RY-THING. So far, in terms to gown, she is top 3 in that evening gown competition imo. But her performance was... I don't know... It lacked spontaneity. You can see she rehearsed it. She did the exact same walk at the prelims, so her passage was great, but not exceptional. But she definitely made her effect on the audience, I'm pretty sure of that. 👏 4. Kenya: The gown that Maria wore that night is SO BOMB! I can bet a lot of people were surprised that night because they weren't expecting this from a country like Kenya. But she delivered, she was sexy, she was sultry, good job! ❤ 3. Colombia: I know her gown was meant to represent something, I dunno anymore, but a lot of people found it... daring yet weird, and it's easy to see why. But Andrea was fierce, confident, she was exuding attitude, her walk was exactly like we were expecting from that kind of girl, and I personally wasn't distracted by the gown, even less disappointed of her performance overall, she's an authentic girl, you can see it. 💎 2. France: 2nd in my list for this round, Iris is not less deserving. A modern yet classy and classic side-swept hair, her Hollywood-like make-up, her smooth and glamorous walk, the face she's giving, her poise, everything of it is what a Miss Universe could seek to be and have. But since I'm picky, I would say the dark point is her gown: yet exquisite and really gorgeous, as a fan of details, I was a little bit lost in the panel of details sewed in her gown. But that's it. Iris is the queen, she make my country proud that night, we all know now, period. 👑 1. Thailand: As said higher, my top 2 is really the ultimate one that night, but here were talking about the evening gown competition only, and we all can be accorded to say that Chalita was the one who came to SLAY! A perfect and tight headbun, a glittery, modern, sleek gown that even make reference to one of those that the Queen of Thailand wore once, the fierceness, the confidence when she was giving face and when she was walking... She literally owned the entire space. She was queenly. And honestly, it's still one of my favorite gowns since then, and so far one of the best Thai delegates that have been ever sent so far. She kept going where Aniporn left by doing, along with Maria (2017) and Paweensuda (2019), the best placements for Thailand - top 5/6. One last thing: I hope that never EVER the MUO will do a triple runway, I mean, WTF? The girls barely have the time to showcase their beauty correctly. Barely around 10 seconds for each and everyone of them, is definitely NoT EnOuGh To ShInE iNdIvIdUaLlY, hope that's clear now. I hope you enjoyed my top and my comments, once again, spread positivity, not hate, and still congrats to Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa! 👑🌌

I liked your analysis, and yes, that stage as well as the triple runway were a very very wrong choice As you mentioned, the delegates did not get a chance to showcase their personality with such a short stage and yes, the time constraints Also, I liked Cayman Islands look, she carried that yellow gown beautifully❤
