Thank You so much for inviting us in tonight. It's so Awesome that you are working with the archaeologist and a blacksmith in reconstructing an old iron axe head! I always enjoy watching you do leather work and making shoes for your children. The wagon construction video sounds like fun. Skal from Oklahoma, USA.

Love your dedication to your craft and sharing your projects with us. Thanks so much! Also - like the fact you take your downtime when your daughters are sleeping to make a fireside video too - Really looking forward to your upcoming videos about the ring-fort especially and the additional wildlife. I don't get to see any here in Illinois beyond the occasional deer, raccoon, squirrel, rabbit, coyote, opossum, skunk, and ground squirrel. Your teaser on the wild boar - very cool! And the young look so cute with their stripes, I'm sure mama is quite protective. Almost done with my knitted wool winingas (not nalbind - don't know how to do that), so I will have to checkout your shoe videos - because I want to make my own as well to complete my outfit.

Hello Jim:) Thank you so much for your feedback. Im happy to heat you enjoy the wildlife part as well. And I must say that its quiet an impressive list you have there. Knittet winnigas sounds cool. shoes are very hard work but with a little dedication and maybe an accept of the fact that maybe the first couple of pairs wont be perfect it is very achievable. the first pairs will work and you will cherish them and be proud but the next one will be even better. Best of luck with your projects and I hope you can find some help in my videos. Otherwise you are welcome to ask. All the best:)

Cheers ! My son and I a couple of weeks ago were at a reenactment work party! We were helping building a full-size replica fort 1700/1800 style! Around the camp fire, your channel was brought up! And not by me! So in the middle of the Canadian wilderness you were discussed and admired! Keep up the good work!

I've long thought viking longhouses are the best for comfort and good living, used for centuries or longer - just as you show it. I trust there is a weaving loom in there somewhere? Hope I can get to see these places one day, all the way from Australia...Thanks so much for bringing this living history to us!
@RAMUNI-Viking2 ай бұрын
Hello Anita. I really like living in the reconstructed houses. Simple and funtional. with dry firewood and a bit on insight into the vents and air ways of the house they are also relatively smokefree. This particular house does not have a weaving loom as it is reconstructed as a house for the shoemakers family. There is another house on this location that has a loom:) Thanks for the comment and for taking an interest in the video and I hope you can get a chance to experience theses places one day. all the best:)

Firstly thank you for inviting us all to sit around the fire with you as you share your thoughts. Wow, what a fantastic opportunity to be able to examine the axe head artifact like that! That is indeed an excellent project to be involved with. Just think of the value and importance of that tool to its owner. The wood he cut to keep his family warm through the winter, perhaps it went on raids, or into battle? Imagine the stories that old axe could tell us, if it could talk. Are you going to be posting some footage of your blacksmith friend forging the replica(s)? I've never forged anything as big as an axe head, but I'd love to try one day! Currently I'm gathering materials to make a seax, if I can find the time between work and family obligations that is. I assume the paper he was tracing the axe head on was a 5x5mm grid? Hmm... maybe I should add an axe to my list of projects too... That mill looks fantastic! And the Ribe ring fort! What an amazing undertaking. How long are they expecting the construction to take? I'm definitely looking forward to your videos about your gorgeous wagon, and seeing you make the boots. All the best my friend, you're doing a fantastic job with everything!
@RAMUNI-Viking2 ай бұрын
Hello my friend. Thank you so much:) I regnocize you thoughts on the axe. There is so much history hidden in it and holding it sparks the imagination and the wonder. Sadly I wont have the opportunity to film the actual forging of this axe but I have plans with the blacksmith for a future video about forging a tool for me where I get to film the process. The paper was 5x5 mm grid yes. Best of luck with your own forging projects. Time is always the factor:) I believe they have 1 or 2 years to finnish the fort. But as I understand it the funding and the plans and permission in the first round is to reconstruct 90 degress or a quarter of the fort. So on carre of 4 houses and the gate and forticification. And thats to be done in a year or two. Maybe in the future they will be able to fund the rest of the fortress. Thank you taking the time to comment and your engagement in my work. I highly appreciate it. Stay safe

It sure was. I cant wait for the project to continue. I am lucky to have a good friend and contact on the inside to make this possible. But I think in general in Denmark at least the museums are quiet open for ideas and projects

Late response I missed this video 😳 So nice to be able to experience this in such a Viking house with the cozy crackling fire. I envy you, I could easily trade it in for my apartment 😅 And what an experience to be able to hold and view such a real Viking axe. I have also made such a beard ax from an old axe, but forging is of course the real work. I can't wait for your next projects, I always enjoy your videos and all the work you put into them your channel wil grow I believe in it. Thanks Ramuni.

What you’re doing is an inspiration and sharing the knowledge you have for these natural crafts in a historical backdrop is invaluable. As someone who also makes films for the sheer love of it (my channel is smaller than yours) I can understand the ups and downs you may feel when making videos. I’m telling you (because I know I need to be told sometimes) there is someone here who is interested in and enjoys your videos. Sharing what you are passionate about will always bring joy to others. Keep doing you, you’ve made a new subscriber from me 👍

What a formiddable opportunity for you. I imagine i had a similar expression in the eyes, when i first held a to me relevant atifact in hands. My wife (kind regards and gratitude by the way) and i both enjoy your content very much. It is a much needed counterweight to the usual style of videos on this platform, and the wildlife-shots most certainly add to it. Since now i not only feel to have missed you in Großraden, but also Bork may i suggest to give your community info beforehand, at least, when you would consider to meet a few of us? Could be a great way to expand your communication beyond youtube. Please keep up the great work, but don't overcommit. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos

Thank you so much Sallafar. Im so sorry to hear we missed a meeting in both Gross Raden and Bork. I will definately consider to share my where abouts with the community. I had the pleasure of meeting a few viewers in Ribe last weekend and it was such a great thing. Im very sad to miss Gross Raden this year, but let me think of a good way to make a calendar or schedule for the community so we can meet and expand the communication. Its a really good idea. Thank you:) all the best.

Thank you for sharing your plans for this season. Nice to see you for an overnighter in the shoemakers house. the sunday at the vikingmarket was very wet and a hope your tent stayed dry insinde. see you on the next video

Hello:) thank you for watching and for leaving me a comment. Sunday was horrible. The tent stays dry and the shoes are ok, but of course when we got home everything had to dry and then tent put up again untill dry. so a bit of work but it was ok and worth it. Hope you guys kept warm and dry too? All the best:)
@gerbenvanderveen-yw9mi2 ай бұрын
yes , we stayed dry and warm. We had to drivevto Esjberg to get us an extra pole for the canopy to support it against all the rain. Next week we get our new linen saxon tent made bij sew-mill.

I am so happy for you ,.... that you have had such a wonderful opportunity of seeing that fabulous axe at the Viking Museum and getting to hold such a marvelous artifact. Lucky you!!! It is a wondrous thing to hold such a remnant of the past and to feel the stories that it holds. You are also truly fortunate to have a skilled friend to craft you a fine replica, so that you can share the experience of holding an authentic design of the past in your hands and to bring to life, for others, the thrill of using such an axe. I look forward to seeing all of your up coming projects that you post...Historic places,....the wagon ,...the boots,...the bread..yum😊. Any wildlife encounters that you share is always a highlight and a delight. You are a true craftsman, RAMUNI, in any project you attempt and I appreciate all that you do and share. May your channel grow and flourish. 👍👍

Im sorry we didnt get to meet. I was in the warriors camp on the field behind your house. But with two figthshows daily and also taking care of two kids the days at the market is quiet busy for me, so sadly i dont get to mingle too much. and when the girls are sleeping normally im quiet tired myself so I dont bimble around too much these years. Hope to see you there next time:)

Thank you David:) the knife is great. I have it in my modern backpack that i bring to All My trips for the forest when i go with the big lense and look for wildlife. Its a great utility knife so im very pleased with it. It doesnt fit in the historical context for me so i dont think it Will appear in the videos but it is definately getting some use:)

The feeling of your fireside chat in this video is right on. I wonder if the Vikings spun their linen and wool together ( linsey woolsey) for warmth and comfort.
@RAMUNI-Viking2 ай бұрын
Thank you. I dont know of any mix material textiles. They might have? As far as I know linen was way more expensive to make so wool wood probably have been the go to choise. If the weawing and the quality is fine I prefer wool over linen for comfort on the skin. but thats an individual matter:)
