--------------------------------------------
I’m often asked, "Mary, what's your morning routine? What's your evening routine?" These questions come from my friends, coaching clients and audience members during live events.
I determined years ago that establishing a bedtime routine helps me fall asleep more easily, as well as supports me in feeling grateful, happier and more fulfilled throughout the day. And, it's easier than you might think!
Incorporating these five practices into my evening has made a huge difference in every area of my life. By sharing them, my hope is that maybe they will for you, too.
1) I ask myself, “Who do I want to be today?”
2) I practice gratitude.
3) I review my day.
4) I use the “pruning shears of revision.”
5) I remind myself that there's a power in me that's greater than anything that comes my way.

Once again, so simple right? I really like the nurturing feeling I have for myself when I pay attention to my day like this. And I like to use forgiveness when those 'bumps' aren't I guess ready to smooth out with reframing just yet :) Whatever helps me wrap myself in the blanket of love in the knowing that I truly care about myself and how much that can translate to being better for others too. Thank you Mary

Some of these ideas are similar to what I do, however I love how you "cut out" the part of the day you wished to do over. I do ask myself, "what occurred to make me respond the way I did, and how could I have responded to it differently?" I also think of at least 3 things to be grateful for regarding my day. Also, awhile ago, I started telling myself that everyday I ought to include at least 3 things that I enjoy doing, so at the end of my day I review my day to see if I honored that commitment. My main flaw in my evening routine is getting to bed at midnight, I'm totally not getting enough sleep, but sometimes I write better, when the day is done. Thanks for the reminder about how what you do prior to settling in can set the tone for the next day. In fact the last 3 days, prior to going to sleep, I played a very soothing song , "A million dreams!" and I have been waking up in an awesome mood! It's ALL about better choices! I am so glad for the reminder that "there is a power greater than me..." Thanks for sharing this Mary, I so enjoy these videos. Sending many blessings your way! Love ya!

Great advice. The idea in the cutting and replacing is that you program your subconscious that “this is how I want this to happen next time.. which helps attract it into your life”.

So beautiful and full of grace! Thanks Mary! It's already so perfect. Hiii, Hum, yes surely rewriting with a peace feeling is such a great tool's. I am trying my best to use that also before meeting a specific person or meeting a challenge that is not a daily one, that can or should wait before it feel ready to be done, put into actions. like a pre-discutions kinda! Lol. You are a very bright light Mary, thanks for being. Best regards

Wow I absolutely love the way that you explained how to condition your mind and your thoughts and using a playback movie of your day and just cutting out what you did not want to go to bed with, for the subconscious mind is so powerful and could disrupt your sleep for one and cause you to go into fear mode, which as you point out, starts your day off to a bad start! Today, (so funny), about what you said in your video... I received a package, it was not so great, but I refuse to sit here and worry, tomorrow is a new day, and it can be dealt with then. I try to meditate in the evening clearing my mind and thoughts. I never ever did these mediations until now and I couldn't' feel better than ever! It grounds me and my thoughts, my feelings and emotions, and allows me to regroup, and feel deeply within myself what I want to change, become the person I want to be for tomorrow, thank you Mary. Your genuine, down to earth and caring nature is very uplifting.

Mary- Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this video! Regret and shame of what I may say or do during the day is MAJOR in holding me back. I'm awful about going over and over about what went wrong and how stupid I must've looked or sounded, did I make sense? So difficult to live like this. Now that I saw your video and write these words I feel compassion and sadness for beating myself up all the time, all day. I have many many tools and skills for success and constantly wonder what is holding me back....I think I found it here in your video. I really needed this in my life! I feel grateful

Hi Mary! I love your channel and your genuine smile. I found your channel when doing research in college actually in my psychology course. Anywho, I struggle with anxiety to the point where I can't even remember parts of my day. I'm only 37 and most memories are a bit of a blur for me. I am very bright, kind, loving, goofy and love talking to people but I literally just try to get thru the day. Do you have any suggestions being that medications really don't help people with anxiety? Thank you and love your program. It gives me hope. xx

Hi Ahava, thanks for sharing! I find comfort in the words of Marcus Aurelius in times like you're describing. "You have power over your own mind - not over events. Realize this, and you will find strength." I made a video about this a few years ago that I think you may find helpful: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oL2CksajxpnLlHU.html
