Michelle, the main reason I love and admire you is because you take the time to explain "why" you use or do the things you do. It would have been so much easier to just go through the motions of step 1- 10 of you applying your skincare and you'd be done in 5 minutes. We see these videos all the time. Not you. You do it in pure Michelle style! Thank you so much for this.

Thank you so much for that disclaimer at first. It's so important to be balanced and healthy in order for your skin to be healthy looking. I haven't found all the perfect products yet, but I do have certain routine down: double cleanse, toner, serum, eye cream and night cream. I also love an enzymatique exfoliator and hydrating sheet masks.

Love this video! The Clarins serum used to be my holy grail. You are making me pick it up again. In regards to the oils, I was told that it depends the consistency of the oil. A thin oil can go in between your skincare, a thicker one is to ‘seal’ it all in. The Sisley one is a thinner consistency, so it fits exactly where you added it. ❤️

I love your videos Michele! I used to have a very lengthy skincare routine but since having a baby, my routine has been reduced to cleansing, toning, eye cream, and moisturizer 😞 but now that I've watched this video (and my baby is approaching 10 months, so I have a tiny bit more time) I'm so inspired to get back to my more extensive routine! I'm so interested in trying out using an oil BEFORE serums and moisturizers! That is such an interesting tip! Thank you!!!

I love your routine Michele! My must haves are Sulwhasoo foaming cleanser, SK-II treatment essence, a good retinol, SK-II RNA Power cream and Sulwhasoo moisturizers. I love Japanese and Korean skincare, it just works for me. I'm now living in the best skin I've ever had. I had very bad skin problems in my teenage years, I never had high self esteem when I was younger. The right skincare has given me so much confidence, that I never thought I would have. I'm now in my 30s and feel so beautiful. I'm a firm believer in taking care of your face ❤️

not everyone can handle those super aggressive treatments and truth be told once you age after being so aggressive with treatments, your skin ends up looking waxy and un naturally poreless. i can recommend them for people who have a true oily skin but not for anyone else truthfully. i also love that you mentioned that the oil was meant to penetrate. this is true, not every oil is built the same!! cleansing oils are not good protecting and hydrating ones cannot cleanse etc. the biggest lesson i’ve learned is that a healthy lifestyle(to the best our abilities) and nourishing the skin is the best way to keep your skin at bay. the tips for dry skin were so spot on, and the message was great. i love your videos so much, you’re such a joy to watch ❤️

The introductory clarification and pieces of advice were so welcome. I am also a fan of Koh Gen Do micellar cleanser but, to save it due to the high price, I am using the A'Pieu Micellar Cleansing Water-Moisture version. It consists of good and mild ingredients. It is necessary to mention that I am using these cleanser in the morning only. My night routine includes a cleansing oil and wash foam-all extremely mild.

Excellent video! Skincare is so personal. I totally agree that what works for one doesn't work for another. Same with the order of things. I have sensitive skin and could never use aha products if I used them as directed. But now I buffer them by putting a hydrating product before use or I mix in an aloe based healing gel. I still get the benefits of an AHA but my face doesn't fall off. There are no absolutes in skincare IMO. LOVE the Clarins Double Serum. I'm on my 3rd big bottle. Been using it for years. It is a lifesaver in the winter. Thank you for showing us your PM ritual.

I’m totally the same with acids, peels, and other items that aggressively exfoliate. The 3 times in my life that I’ve had facials, I end up with red blotchy skin, and usually some sort of rash or extreme redness for several days. So I’ve stopped getting facials. I also have dry skin that does best with gentle cleansing & manual exfoliation. I took your advice on a previous review of the Sisley essential skincare lotion and tried it. I already use several Sisley products and love them, but this took my skincare results to the next level. I’m so impressed with it, and so very thankful for your review. I never would’ve tried it otherwise.

Excellent video Michele. You look great as usual and your skin is very well taken care of. One thing to note about French skincare brands - all the products have a disclaimer that they work only in the top layer of epidermis. They usually disclose that in French (unsure about English). It is a legislation thing there. That’s something to factor in when you do skincare layering.

Thank you for the encouragement to experiment! It's those kinds of moments that keep me coming back to your channel. :) I highly recommend the Cle de Peau cottons - larger and softer than the Shiseido. I am a fellow devotee of the Koh Gen Do spa water (and those heavenly cloths for traveling and lazy nights). Oh and if you've never tried it I am completely in love with Aurelia Skincare's Miracle Cleanser in the evening. My sensitive, rosacea skin loves it and the scent and feel puts me in my happy place.

Love these types of videos. I agree about when to apply the face oils. I've tried various points in my skin care routine to apply and do find it feels the most effective mid-routine. I'm really interested in the Retrouve Cleansing Elixir. You may have sold me on that one. I have the Clarins Double Serum but admittedly I've never been particularly jazzed about Clarins products. I may need to revisit this product as well.

Hey Michele, well I’m pleased to see that I’m not the only one to use a whole load of products, my husband refers to my nightly routine as performing an operation. I use the omorovicza elemental emulsion for hydration and it sinks in immediately with no residual product or tackiness left on the skin, I haven’t found anything I like better. Love the Sisley black rose oil but I haven’t used eye creams for the past year as they don’t do anything for me and I’ve tried loads, I just use my night cream which I’ve yet to find a holy grail. This was a great watch and definitely going to try the la Mer soft lotion. Thank you.

Hi Michele: I use the same eye cream from Sisley and to me, it is in the middle of the road for thickness. Chanel's Sublimage eye cream is much thicker and La Mer's eye concentrate in more silicone feeling.......love the Sisley because it is right in the middle. Not to heavy and not to thin.

Very good points! I especially love that you emphasized the important of doing what works for you and managing your diet and stress. I have tried the retrouvive cleanser and it was ok but not life-changing. Same with la mer. I do really like the fresh black tea essence but the origins magic mushroom essence (not its official name) has my heart. And Augustinius Bader. The rich cream. Lives up to the hype imo. I’m also obsessed with de mamiel’s seasonal oils. I apply one of them after my serum and before moisturizer bc that’s what works for me. I use a medical grade retin a and serum.

Michele, for having eczema, your skin is amazing !! Mine is red and I’m starting to see some of my patches disappear!! I’m using Elemis skincare. I have to be careful on what I use also, since I can tell immediately with how my patches look. Your skin just glows. I also use oil the same way you do. I truly think, what works for each person , is what they should do 💕

Loved the video! Which toner would you suggest for dry mature skin, the la mer or the pink one from sisley? 💕

Hi Michele and thank you So much for sharing your skincare routine. You have such a beautiful skin. I totally agree with you and use oil before my moisturizers. I love the Sisley one, is my favorite alongside the Oskia restoration oil which is not thick at all, love this one a lot. The only thing I do differently than you is that I use the Fresh essence before the Sisleya lotion, which I bought thanks to you and I love it!. I think I do it because is more watery and I use it after my toner but I think the same, every skin and experience is different:-). I used the Clarins serum years ago and is very nice. Thanks a mill 😘😘

Yes, definitely oil before moisturiser. Your skin is amazing😀, can not tell you were a smoker! And no need for actives, especially on sensitive skin. I have to use them since getting melasma as the stuff looks like dirt on the face if not corrected! Luckily my eczema is gone completely since diet change. Looove skincare vids! ❤

I have oily skin and still use oils. In my case I find using a facial oil actually balances my skin and helps it be less oily.

Yes! So glad you mentioned the other factors of skin care. When I’m on keto, my skin looks better and breaks out less. Bwahahahah! Love your mom. The clarins double serum rocks but when I tried it I had an allergic reaction. I was not happy, lol.

3 ways to help with your dry skin: (1) use a face steamer after cleansing (Panasonic has one) steam for 1-2mins before you put on serum or oil. (2) Recreate the environment in your bedroom by adding a humidifier, put it in the corner of your bedroom, set it at 40-50% for 2hrs, so if you go to bed at 9pm, it will automatically turn off at 11pm, but enough moisture in your bedroom till 5am when you wake. (3) If that bothers your husband, put a tiny travel size humidifier (size of a fist) on your nightstand, it will release moisture over your face when you sleep

Great video. I laughed because my mother used Clarins double serum for decades- she got it from Paris before it was available here. She used it into her 90’s and swore it was the secret to her amazing skin. She didn’t have fine lines or wrinkles😘

I too don't believe that petrolatum is bad for everybody. I use products containing petrolatum and mineral oil and they do not adversely affect my skin. I use cerave cream as the last step, kind of like a balm or heavy cream that acts to seal everything, including my Facial Oil, serum, and a lighter moisturiser, in. I have very dry skin and this is the major factor that has led me to being able to wake up with super soft skin in the morning.

I really enjoyed this video! Probably because I have such a similar skin type! I ordered the Clarins Double Serum. Clarins is a brand that’s been around for a long time. I’d like to try the La mer Soft Lotion- the last step you used. I have been using Biossance products and Tatcha’s essence and like those, too. I want to ask you what, if anything, the Sisley Rose oil smells like? Thanks for doing this one!

love this video ! i’m using pretty much mostly tatcha products for skincare, with a few SkinInc serums. i have other adhoc items from other brands that i use occasionally. interestingly i usually either mix a face oil into my moisturiser or use it on its own. in a way the oil is in my lazy day routine hahah AND another intresting thing is that a chanel associate told me the exact same thing about their face oil (the leblanc one) : use it after toner or essence / serum and before moisturiser. i believe it’s also the same for their jasmine oil which is gorgeous. ever since i’ve started on the tatcha camelia oil to remove makeup i’ve not had to rely so much on a separate eye makeup remover. and i love their neck cream !! the clarins double serum is a cult classic - i don’t think people really talk about it especially if it’s become a standard go-to part of their skincare staples. i’ve been thinking of getting the SkinInc LED face massager for some time now - that will be my my next (new) skincare purchase if i decide to take the leap. have you tried LED light therapy treatments ?
