I have a question!! So I’m in high school and I struggle with kinda (sevre acne) and I was on tretinoin and I stopped using it .. but you use a lot of products and I’m just curious how long was it before you started seeing results and is it okay to use the products while on a prescribe cream that also come along with its own side effects.. I guess the main question is ..do these products you use correspond and help your skin get better with tretinoin

Love the video! By the way not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but we aren’t suppose to bring products down the neck meaning we shouldn’t apply products on our neck downwards as it will cause more saggy skin , we suppose to go upwards instead :) I’ve learned that from dermatologists , it helps wrinkles better as well when we apply products upwards . Hope this helps ☺️would love to see more videos 💖

I had been using cosrx for more than a year and a half specifically the Mucin advance 96 snail power essence. It does made a difference. It makes my skin soft and well hydrated. I have a dry and sensitive skin. My AM routine: Cerave hydrating cream to foam cleanser, Klair’s supple skin moisturizing toner, Cosrx advance snail 96 Mucin essence, Olay Vit-C+peptide serum or The Ordinary Niacinamide+ zinc serum (depends on my skin condition if they are more irritated), LRP triple moisturizing cream, LRP cicaplast balm and Neutrogena hydro boost sunscreen spf 50. No make up, no foundation. My PM routine: Cerave hydrating cream to foam cleanser, Klair’s supple skin moisturizing toner, Tretinoin 0.05%, LRP triple moisturizing cream, LRP cicaplast balm. I love the ELF holy hydration moisturizer on my skin. I use it during winter time on top of moisturizing cream, if needed.

I use Tretinion.25% around my eyes and 0.1% rest of the face. So far no issues. I am 42 years old. I don’t have any acne issue. I have a 13 year old daughter and she is getting teenage acne now a days. She started using niancimite and salicylic acid. It seems to help her.

That sounds perfect for your teenage daughter! Salicylic acid is great for acne and niacinamide should help with some of the irritation. Love that you’re not experiencing issues on Tret as well! ✨💕

Tretinoin in a gel formula is supposed to be better for oily skin I think! Atrilin gel or its generic version is one of the best formulas out there-- I've never tried it but the ingredients look pretty great. Cream tret seems to be a little heavy for me. Retin- A micro is also supposed to be great for oily skins x

Thanks Bee! I have tried the gel but for some reason it really irritated my skin. I've heard that it's better for oily skin as well. 👍 I use a super light layer of the cream to try and prevent the dreaded grease.

Love your videos. I've really enjoyed watching your Tretinoin journey as I go through my journey :p Just wanted to let you know that Clinique's Take the Day Off has Ethylhexyl Palmitate in it as the first indigent which is highly comedogenic. I know its just an oil cleanser to break down makeup and sunscreen and you'll be going in with a cleanser anyway but, personally, I try to avoid anything comedogenic in any stage of my skin care routine that could potentially cause me to break out. Thought you may like to know. Much love.

Hey there! I think you have a great routine. Would you advise layering TO Niacinamide along with Alpha Arbutin during daytime? I know Alpha Arbutin treats hyperpigmentation and dark spots, but if I'm already using Tretinoin and Niacinamide, would this be too much?

I've been on Tretinoin 0.025% for 1 year and just moved onto .05% cream 3 weeks ago. I just started purging again, specifically in area's where I had some closed comedones that are turning into active, painful pimples (they're the reason I moved up to a higher prescription). But I've dealt with the purge before, so I'll get through. Here's my current routine: AM: + Clean face with micellar water on cotton pad (doing a cleanser in the AM is too drying for me) + The Ordinary 10% Nicacinomide (B3 is a great antioxidant to protect against free radicals and more stable than vitamin C) + Elta MD sunscreen in SPF 45 + Moisturize a bit more with Cerve moisturizing lotion PM: + Remove makeup/SPF with micellar water + Clean face with Cerve Hydrating Cleanser + Neutrogena Hydroboost Extra Dry Skin on damp skin (love the texture more than anything) + 4 nights a week I moisturize with the same from the AM and apply Tretinoin, the other 3 nights I apply the Nicacinomide and then moisturize

Few things could make a little difference. In the morning you dont even have to cleanse so you can skip it. Me and many others only wash face at evening because your face is not really that dirty. Why dont you put moisturizer before sunscreen? After sunscreen your moisturizer has no effect and if you dont put it at all before using sunscreen your skin will get more dry.

Hi Rudi❣️ I’m really enjoying your channel - you’re so funny. I wondered if you use a toner & if so which. I saw another viewer asked, but didn’t reply to your question. I have combination/oily T-zone. I too use tretinoin with so many other products that my skin became so sensitive, I developed Perioral dermatitis & acne prone skin. As you recommended, I stopped using witch hazel - well yes, of course, I was using the rose petal one 🙃☺️.

Thank you! I do not user a toner, I have found that keeping my routine as simple as possible is the best for my skin type. I also have dealt with perioral dermatitis, but from steroid usage regarding my eczema, and it was just awful. I'm glad you're past it! 💜👍

I just wanted to share my routine to see if I should change anything, thank you! Every night I use: 1. Cerave Foaming Crean Cleanser 2. Inkey List Tranexmic Acid 3. Tretoin .1% 4. Cerave PM Facial Moisturing Lotion Every day I use: 1. Wash my face with just water cause I feel like double cleansing really drys my face 2. Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 3. Clindamycin .1% 4. Sunscreen from my dermatologist which has Green Tea, 4% micronized Titanium Dioxide, 4% Zinc Oxide, and 4% Octinoxate Also do you think spacing each product out when applying them is better?

How beautiful you look without makeup😍😍😍😍 m enjoying watching your videos. I also use that Clinique cleansing balm and Neutrogena moisturiser as humectant. It’s best while using tretinoin 😬 but I switched to clinique moisture surge serum because Neutrogena fragrance free version is not available in India. Only one suggestion dear u should switch to Cetaphil gentle cleanser to Cetaphil foaming gentle cleanser because that doesn’t have any paraben in it. Hope u will read the ingredients .Parabens can mimic estrogen in the body disrupting our delicate hormonal balance.They’ve been linked to breast cancer, and since they act as a hormone disruptor they can lead to reproductive and fertility issues. 🙁

I'm using 0.05 every night for almost two months and the dryness, irritation and purging has gone down over time and my skin is starting to look better. I also use TTDO balm and the Hydroboost cream! Just a note, yes actives on tret nights are not advisable, but you can make an exception with that Niacinamide serum because it's a soothing serum and not a resurfacing one for example. Love Dr Dray and can also recommend Dr Sam Bunting!

@@animeshsrivastava20 Yes it is, but everyone's skin is different and if you use it every night and your skin is very irritated and sore it's better to switch to every other night. Then if you want, when your skin has adjusted, you can use it every night again, or if you prefer stay on every other night.

When i use tretionin at night : 1. Cleanse with hada labo oil and paulas choice resist cleanser 2. Cerave cream on damp skin 3. Tret 4. Creme mask vernix BR or some night mask Not using tret: Cleanse with same above 2. Toner paulas choice 3. Face Theory serum calming / or barrier relief / or paulas choice omega + 🤣 4. Face theory cream Morning: cleanse with BR Lait U 2. Toner paulas choice 3. Paulas choice resist serum 4. Clinique moisture surge 5. i use an okay exfoliating cleanser with really fine grains in it. i use it like twice a month. it doesn’t irritate my skin while on tretinoin. 😅

Hi! I want to ask you because my dermatologist told me to use Adapalene T,Th,Sat and Tretinoin M,W,F,Sun. And use Paula's choice every morning. I'm a little scared to follow it because I think that's kinda too much for my skin. And I am not sure if I can use different retinoids like adapalene and tretinoin

I use the cerave foaming cleanser, cerave moisturize, and tretinoin, but I was thinking of switch to the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Cleanser. Would you recommend that cleanser, or have you heard good things about it when using tretinoin?

I have these gross tiny little bumps on my forehead (fungal acne) and I had to switch from using oils to a different makeup remover. Fungal acne feeds on certain ingredients in oils switched to Bioderma micellar water and then I go in with Vanicream. I’ll have to stop putting it on my nose creases and corners of my mouth because it hurts and peels 😭

@cristina I had fungal acne and was able to treat it using a strange method I found online - I used selsun blue (yes, the anti-dandruff shampoo) and left it on my damp face for 10 minutes then washed it off. It worked like a charm after two weeks!

Hi Sulafa! 💕 When I was not on Tret, I’d use it every other day. Since being on Tret, I only use it on my off nights and not on the same night I apply Tret. Yes, I moisturize after with CeraVe PM. 👍🏼

Hi new subscriber here! I have a question about SPF. With tret and just skincare in general i only wash my face once a day (at night) How would I apply SPF for the day then since i don’t wash in the morning ? Do i just wake up and put on SPF regardless of not washing in the morning

This is super common for people with dry skin! I would suggest splashing your face with water in the morning, then applying your moisturizer and SPF.

Once you try literally anything by LaRoche- Posay it will be on your holy grail list. My dermatologist recommended this line along with CeraVe and they are not exciting looking products but they are the best! P.S. New sub, loved the video!

Hey! Question about my routine: We are using the exact same tretinoin. I usually wash my face with the PanOxyl benzoyl peroxide cream wash, then I apply the tretinoin and lotion. But for the morning routine i’ve been using BHA by paula’s choice, lotion and sunscreen. Should I switch the BHA to the azelaic acid by paula’s choice? My skin is going through a purge now and it’s also really dry. Thank you so much!

I would definitely cut out the panoxyl wash if you're feeling super irritated or cut out the BHA, that's a lot of actives for one day!

Yes you can use a nice hydrating toner, but I’d stay away from active ingredients or toners with alcohol in them! 👍🏼

If you do use it make sure it's on off nights and watch for skin irritation. Cleanser > BHA > Moisturizer

There’s always a chance! Tretinoin brings acne that’s built up to the surface quicker. If you don’t have acne / haven’t for a while, it shouldn’t be too bad.

Hi Shilpa! Tretinoin is typically used over a long period of time on the whole face, but it can be used on active acne as a treatment. I would recommend using it all over the face instead of just as a spot treatment. I hope this helps!

In the morning Rinse face with cold water and apply ceravr normal to dry skin cleanser. Instead of drying my face with towel I apply my cetaphil spf 15 moisturizer and air dry. Through out the day after working out, I will rinse my face with cold water and re apply my moisturizer. Before I go to bed I do the same thing but apply my eye cream as well and wait 35 minutes for everything I dry then I apply my tretinoin. Please lmk if this is a good routine

Maybe only at morning cause when it comes to night is a time to use the tretinoin orr giving a day break like theres a day that u use tretinoin alone and also theres day that using exfoliate toner alone??? I personally don't feel the need to exfoliate much or at all after being on Tret for over a year. It's kept my skin so healthy and clear that I just don't see the need personally.

@@ann-marie808 i use moisturizer first and then t retinon. Let the moisturizer dry for a while and then apply the tretinon. Because the rule is never ever apply t retinon on a wet face. P/s : make sure your moisturizer does not have the ingredients that could irritate skin when combine with tretinon.

Hi Brianna, a lot of people experience the dryness and irritation when starting tretinoin. I would talk to your dermatologist about these side effects to see if you should go down in strength.

Hi Sharu! 💕 Tretinoin sinks into the skin overnight, so it’s up to you whether you want to wash your face in the morning or not. I do because I have oily skin, but I know people who are on Tretinoin who do not wash in the AM. I hope this helps! ✨👍🏼

Hi friend! Are you currently using Tretinoin? If yes, it’s best to slowly integrate BHA into your routine on your off nights and see how your skin adjusts. If you aren’t, I would try using it every other day. 👍🏼

I’ve been using tretinoin at night along with clindamycin in the mornings but find i still have a lot of blackheads and clogged pores. would it be good to also use the paulas choice daly i luv acid?

Hi Elaine! It really depends on how long you've been using Tretinoin. It can take up to 3 months to start to see results while using Tretinoin. If you do decide to use an acid, make sure you do not use it on the same night as Tret.

Rudi Berry thanks for responding! i’ve been on tretinoin for more than 3 months now and switched from the .1% to .25% almost 2 months ago now. i use tretinoin every night and clindamycin every morning. i just got the paulas choice BHA, do you have any reccomendations on how to implement it into my routine? also i wanted to ask if it is possible to use too large amount of tretinoin or if that would be harmful, because i think i should have already finished purging since i’ve been on it for so long, but my skin is still pretty bad.

Hi Mariana! Thank yo for your support! You can incorporate it with a nice serum (the ordinary and glossier have good ones) as your first step after cleansing and then add a moisturizer. Try using it a few times a week and build up to every day!
