Thanks. This got down to the nuts and bolts of screening vendors and starting relationships. I'm also wondering: Where exactly do you go to find event vendors? Anywhere other than Google and event industry networking groups (e.g. MPI)?

What is the best way to approach potential vendors for the first time? For example DJs, photographers, etc...

That's a lot of hats to wear and I guess it depends on the size of your event and what you're providing as the vendor. If you decide to do both, have people there to help you!!
