@@peterwelsh9509 We have had a wet summer here which has been fantastic for the streams. Still running between 15 & 17C water temps and at higher flows. Good feeding trout about and there are some monsters out there that occasionally give us an Arse handing :) Give it time and you will be back out enjoying a fantastic Season :)

When I was a young lad, I dreamed of being a professional musician. And, I ended up being just that, for over 40 years. But, as I’ve grown older, now looking at my 60th birthday looming ever-larger on the near horizon, I dream of the day when I can retire, and spend my free time discovering new streams and rivers in which to throw a fly, and hopefully, if the gods are smiling, fooling a few wiley trout into rising to it. Fly fishing is zen, it’s a spiritual experience...it’s...a religion. For those who may laugh or roll their eyes at this, I’d suggest they experience the peaceful solitude of walking through a silent forest, or crossing a meadow on a misty Spring or Fall morning, creeping up on a stream, quietly stepping into the water, and casting a Blue Winged Olive, Zebra Nymph, or one of many caddis and streamer patterns, and hooking your very first trout... Only THEN will you know that what I’m saying is true. 🙏😉

That was amazing.. I just got my first fly rod today.. I'm excited to try it since I've been seeing alot of nice trout eating off the surface with no interest in my lures I'm hoping I can get the hang of it quickly. This video showed me it has not so much to do with fancy casting but just being subtle and using ur brain.. was wondering how to use a giant rod on a little stream and this was awesome to see. Great video. I love fly fishing. If I haven't caught anything in the first 5 minutes, there are no fish there and it's time to find another spot. Beaver ponds are also great fishing spots. I would go out at 6 in the morning, cross the road to the beaver pond and catch 2 x 8" - 10" trout in 10 minutes. Go back to the cottage and cook trout and eggs for breakfast for my wife and I.

Allegheny college of Maryland offered a fly tying class. I was 14 and my best friend was 12. We've been best friends since second grade. He took an interest I didn't. I gave him all of my grandfather's feathers and whatnots from the attic. We are 45 and 43 now. He's a world-class fly fisherman, and he is given that gift to so many people. All these years later, I'm still showing up with worms, chicken liver, women and beer, and Chris holds his fly rod looking like his father more every year.♥️. All he ever talks about is his wife and his three daughters, and how I'm going to have to take care of them if something happens to him. Not many men can maintain a relationship from the second grade until almost old. Alpha is still Alpha!
