Everbuild Aquaseal Wet Room System & DIY Tanking

A superb low cost DIY tanking system from Everbuild for wet rooms and showes. Flexible tape allows movement in all walls and floors while a liquid rubber membranne makes everything waterproof. No matter how much the wall and floor joints expand and contract the tape and the membrane move with it, keeping all of the water in the room, not in the walls.

Great video. It looks very doable provided I follow the steps. I'm gonna give it a bash this weekend. I read on another forum that its 'very tricky' and I should "leave it to the professionals". You've just saved me at least 100 quid on a "professional". Thanks a million. Keep up the good work.

+Aidandur It is ver "doable" and if there are posts anywhere which say it should only be done by pros then they are probably written by pros trying to protect themselves from Home Improvers doing their own projects! Good luck and do let us know how you get on.

Hi! Thanks so much for this really helpful video! Quick question...if tiling above a bath should tape be put around the edge of the bath too?

Hi there, great video - just wondering if there is any advice or product for creating a fall in the shower? Also, if I am putting a single shower screen up, do I need to tank the outside of the screen? Thanks again

+Terence Smith For a concrete floor you can screed a fall Terence, for a wooden floor you need to strengthen it with some 25mm ply and then you could use some self levelling floor screed (for timber) to create a fall. You really only need a few mm fall to get to the drain.

handy vid, thanks. do you suppose this could be used outside? I have a flat (actually inclined at about 3 degrees) concrete roof and I want to tank it and then tile over it. do you think that would work?

+Chebber Khan It's not tested outside as far as we know Chebber. It's not the volume of rain that could potentially damage it, it could most certainly withstand that, but the frost and probably worse, really hot sun that could cause the damage.

It is hard to judge because you can't really see what is happening behind the tiles and only time could show how good is this product. I have been using this brand before in pva, expanding foams and so on. it is cheaper i have to agree but in my experience you getting what you pay for.
