So 4 Evercade carts are no longer being manufactured, though at time of this video you can maybe get lucky and find them in store or online to purchase. Are they worth seeking out to buy though?

Buy them up now, when you are looking for rarities later, you can swap your spares for those. If you want to collect the entire set of consoles and games, spares are required for trade.

Personally, Technos 1 is absolutely worth it. Its getting pricey (so tht is a bit of a caveat), but it has river city ransom and multiple double dragon games. I'm seeing for 60-100 pounds now. If you can get it for the low end id be tempted.

Looks like the only one I'm missing from the oop list is namco1. It really is a shame the namco relationship seems to have fallen apart(?), since we're regularly seeing playstation games now, and Namco's ps1 lineup was gold.

"Legacy" or otherwise, I personally think Evercade owners should buy the cartridges that interest them and will get value from them. For example, if you dislike Worms but like Bust-A-Move, £18 to try Worms Blast for a similar puzzler is expensive - Worms fans however are getting value for money as they'd lap up the hours. Anyhow, my recommendations for the "Legacy" carts: • Namcos They are a huge brand that are universally accepted as making games the majority of gamers enjoy. If you're interested in portably playing these (OG or EXP owners), they're a must for most - Pacman, Dig Dug, Galaxian and Galaga are the main draw, but it's great to see titles that usually miss the Namco Museum collections (Metal Marines and Battle Cars for example). The licencing thing is a kick in the teeth for VS only owners however - a missed opportunity to reprint and boost sales, for Blaze and Bandai-Namco alike. • Technos console If you're into brawlers, this'll interest you more; especially if you have nostalgia for the specific games. Scott Pilgrim fans (film or graphic novels) will probably be curious about the Double Dragon (the twins) and Crash! And The Boys (rival band with the girl drummer) reference origins. • Oliver Twins I feel the elusive NES versions were used to introduce newer gamers with the better graphics; familiar gamers would mostly be used to home computer releases. I'd recommend these to the nostalgic or fans of the side quests in the Zelda games due to a lot of Dizzys. As PK In The Universe has pointed out, once the new availability of "Legacies" has run dry, how much are you willing to pay scalpers? If you want any of them, get them whilst you can.
@henrygpk
@henrygpk Жыл бұрын
PK only talks to those who know the system now. What about the people who don’t yet know anything about the Evercade and want to buy these titles later on? Unfortunately the elephant in the room for evercade is the lack of availability for these legacy carts

Personally I'd heard about the OG Evercade mid 2021, and was sold on the concept of the VS once I'd found stock about this time last year. A couple of colleagues hadn't heard of it then, but have increased interest recently as the variety of cartridges has increased. One is waiting for the next payday to get a VS having tried mine out, the other is considering an EXP. I hope both get the opportunity to choose the Legacy carts in case they want them. And I'm sure my colleagues won't be the last people to hear of the Evercades for the first time with interest in the systems. A bit of luck, @@henrygpk, Blaze will approach Bandai-Namco, Technos & Codemasters/the Oliver Twins to point our that the VS is fairly new and the EXP is brand new, both are selling well and reaching new customers whilst these 4 carts are out of production/soon to to unavailable, thus throwing away potential profit (or charity in the case of the Oliver Twins) from limited print runs. Whether the companies actually listen or not...

I feel like having expensive rare evercade cart totally defeats it's original purpose. If you're willing to drop an arm and a leg for a few classic games why not just buy the originals at this point? One main reason I got the VS was the technos cart, not realizing it became ultra rare just weeks before my decision. Games on it are some of my favorites, which I already own across multiple devices, and can also play for free with emulation if I choose. These are just reshaped SD cards after all. And personally I dont feel these will hold any long term value, they are just riding the FOMO wagon for now.

I'm finally going to join the Evercade club with an EXP! I hope I like it. I have been following the Evercade for a while though, and ordered the Namco carts some months back when I first heard they were discontinued. I just found out the other two were discontinued as well. I was able to pick them all up from Amazon's Canadian site. I somewhat overpaid for the Technos one but the others were at usual price.

The reason why the two Namco Collections run without licensing issue on the new EXP and not on the VS is beyond my imagination! That's the exact kind of bull**its who makes me seriously think about the purchase of an EverSD just for...ehm, some modifications on them! The problem of "modification" seems to be a not so great issue even for Blaze, considering how many posts about working Namco cartridges running on the VS I saw on the official Facebook group (where all post got pending approval, and that means something) until a few months ago.
@CrazyBurger

@retrojoe85
@retrojoe85 Жыл бұрын
@@CrazyBurger oh, same for me. Especially if you consider that the EverSD is not my cup of tea: I've bought Evercade just for original hardware, so if I buy if just to modify the two Namco Collections I will never make any use of it over that. Seriously. I have the Everdrives on my real consoles for something like this, and in that case I feel a more specific sense for doing that.

The NES did get some ok arcade ports from the early 80s, most are the worst versions and a lot people would be disappointed by their inclusion. Outside of the actual arcade versions, I really like some of the PC Engine ports (check out the PCE version of Dragon Spirit)

@@billcook4768 hehe. A Vectrex collection 🎉😁 But seriously, I don't think there will ever be a collection like this. If I'm not mistaken, all official Vectrex games are free but may not be used for commercial purposes. But with an Evercade Cardridge it would be a commercial use, so i see no chance that we get a Vectrex Collection on the Evercade. And let's be honest, vector-based games on a TFT,LCD, not really nice. This has to run on a real Vector tube ;)
