How to adjust uPVC front door hinges up and down

Watch this video to see how to adjust uPVC door height.
If the door has dropped or needs to be higher (or lower) in the frame you can adjust the screw that controls the vertical movement of the hinge.
Use an Allen key and start with a 1-2 full rotation and then tweak from there.
Tools Needed: 4/5mm Allen Key

I can only echo the rest of the comments. No mess, just what I needed to hear, one 6mm allen key later and the door shuts easily again and there is no 1mm gap at the top. Thank you!

Thanks for that. Our door needed to be lifted slightly so it would catch first time without the need to lift the handle to use the deadlocks.

I think you should open the door before you do that, and also simultaneously push up underneath with your foot to avoid unseating the seals and stripping the screws

key wouldn't turn. Door locked shut. (Eventually) Ah the door's dropped down with the heat. Adjusting the hinges worked a treat. Thanks a lot. Puts yellow pages back on the shelf

Hi great video can you tell me why my patio door won't lock? When i open the door and lift the handle up i can lock it with the key but when i close it and lift the handle it won't lock any ideas

Do some of the hinges take the Allen keys from the top? Mine look exactly the same but I can’t get an Allen key in the bottom, when I shine a torch and look up it doesn’t look like it takes an Allen key either. If I pop the white top cover off the hinge there’s a plastic bit that takes an Allen key but it pushes the door in and out not up and down ?

I've got some like that and was wondering about that myself, but after watching a few videos I've just been out and adjusted mine. That bottom hole takes an Allen key, mine is 5mm. It's like a large grub screw where turning it clockwise screws the grubscrew in and pushes the hinge pins, which sit on top of it, up within the hinge - lifting the door.
