Just visited Evergreen few weeks ago with my mom who is a Nicholson/Stallworth. Visited her childhood home in Nichburg 15 minutes from Evergreen. 😊

I lived in that rundown city for many wasted years, the best thing about Evergreen, is seeing the WELCOME TO EVERGREEN sign in your rearview mirror.

My grandmother was born and raised in Old Town aka Evergreen Alabama. She met and married my grandfather Jesse Walker and because we did not write down important information, we have no information about my grandfather. I want to visit because our family still has land there and I have relatives there. This is an important trip to me... my family is the Sanfords.

The house @ 22:30 was owned by a geologist that died in the late 90's. The house was an absolute gem @ that time and when it was built in the late 1800's there were no trees in front and you could see all the way to downtown according to the widow. Evergreen was a bustling town at one time and has some beautiful old houses. Time and industry has passed it by, but the finest smoked sausage in the free world is make right down the road. - Conecuh Sausage

I used to live in Evergreen while I was truck driving for a year. Not that bad of a place for rent not much to do tho. Other then shop at walmart

I was in the Navy back in the late eighties and stationed at the little airport they have there. From what you are showing here the place have not change at all! LOL! Poverty and Racism was out of control and looks like poverty is still in full effect. Those buildings have not changed! Lol! Thanks for sharing!
