another crazy thing about the seasons changing is that it definitely takes an extreme amount of effort from a, like, three person team to quickly change all of the decorations from season to season. like, imagine putting christmas lights on acres worth of trees with maybe a work week of time and two friends to help.

that being said, i really like the changing seasons. i think that it gives the general local audience something familiar to come out for. people around here love to come to a renaissance fair in the summer, a haunted house in the fall, and to see the lights in the winter. evermore can fill all of these with the seasons model and draw in a huge amount of folks that it otherwise wouldn't. it's one of the only smart marketing decisions that the park has made tbh. i just wish, in a world where the park wasn't always on the financial brink of destruction, that they would give the show design team some more help. they are not well funded or staffed enough to keep up with what they are being asked to do, and i honestly don't know how they accomplish as much as they do.

@@BobAtEvermore You can still have seasonal themes and open all year round, other parks like Disney or Universal do it all the time, without closing periods of week or months in between. Now, I understand this park doesn't have the budget of Disney or Universal and the ticket price is way lower but opening all year round would give them a constant flow of income and will make it more accessable for tourist or passers by who cannot be in town during an specific season.

Their excuse in the past has always been that the weather is really unpredictable in the spring. Which it definitely is, but I dunno.

Lack of publicity was a big factor in this, yes. The owners didn’t put any real effort into advertising to locals, a big mistake on their part. The 9/11 comment was a pun pointing out how in the big scheme of things, the announcement of Evermore closing wasn’t as important. Sort of like stubbing your toe and joking that it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to you.

there's a video on this channel with the ceo talking about that. they are going to fully close until may to rehab the park.

I found out last month that the estimate that they had quoted to them from a contractor to build that tree with a face was under $100k at the time. That's pennies when building a theme park, how couldn't they prioritize the damn tree
