Why you gotta make me cry like that. I freaking love skyrim. Jzargo forever. I remember the first time he died I was like a level 56 (before I discovered modding, all hard earned) my last save was level 33 and I totally went back to just have Jzargo back and I also learned a hard lesson that day to save every chance you get 😂 I hurt my own heart twice.

@@epictwinkaho1ic828 I like that Skyrim lets you save just about anywhere so you DON’T have to repeat a bunch of grinding to retry the boss in a cave. Yeah, I’m a save-spammer, with a rolling list of 6 or 7 save files. (Some games) “Can’t save while enemies are near” - what?!? But that’s WHY I need to save, NOW.

It’s 2011. You wake up. It’s a Saturday. You turn your screen back on and there it is, the Skyrim pause menu, just as you left it the night before. You take a moment to remember what you were doing, and then you continue your adventure. Life is good.

Really I wish I was alive in Skyrim's reality, not this one. It would be so good. I really wish Tamriel was real. But, what if, in one of the many multiverses, Skyrim IS real and WE are in it...? That's a possibility, but as of now I really wish I was living in Skyrim; Whiterun, Winterhold, any of them...

This game literally saved me from giving up on life and committing suicide a few years ago. I had no interest or love for my physical reality but escaping into the world of tamriel for 10 hours a day kept me inside and safe from doing something stupid. Hoarding and decorating my Lakeview manor gave me something to be proud of, even though I had nothing going for me outside of the monitor. After getting the help I needed a few years later I had another bash at Skyrim, this time heavily modded for an incredibly immersive experience. It just gets better with every quest I revisit and camping spot I discover. Skyrim was a keystone in my recovery and while I haven't played it for a month now as I'm working through AC:Valhalla, I regularly meditate and fall asleep to this emotional, spiritually invigorating music. Thank you Skyrim and the community, I love you all.

@TheLeanBaker
@TheLeanBaker 3 жыл бұрын
@Wei Zhao I'll say this from experience. I can kinda see what you're saying, but here's the point that I made in the comment before: the choice of evil or good is yours and yours alone. When someone is born, they are not born evil, but entirely innocent. A newborn does not know what good or evil even means and without that knowledge, why would that determine them as evil? Evil, by definition, is the "deliberate" action that is contrary to favorable morals. Now let's say that someone is born into a home that is "evil"... This person only would know the evil in the home without having a knowledge of what is good, so heavy punishment on them would be... incorrect. It's the same the other way around: if a person only knows good and has never encountered it, how would they know what opposition looks like? The other half of it is that in this world, everyone has the agency to choose between the moral and the not. I'm also not saying that someone should directly seek "suffering" or opposition because that's ridiculous, and there's enough to go around for everyone already. You, as everyone else, have three choices when you meet opposition: face it and win, face it and fail, or become the opposition. One would make you stronger, one would teach you a hard lesson, and one would lead you down a path that is riddled with pitfalls. Think of it like this and I'll be done: You are a campfire, a small one that is just getting started. Let's suppose the opposition is a bunch of logs and other fuel. There is a real risk for this small flame to be smothered and put out by the logs and wood. However, if you, the flame, had a choice, what would you do? Would you get extinguished, or eat at the surplus of wood for a while, risking the fuel that you're already using? If you take the latter option, you can burn through the wood and become a flame that is both brighter and hotter than it ever was before. THAT is the result of triumphing in challenges. THAT shows the strength you possess and therefore, you shine brighter thanks to the lessons the challenges provided.

I just finished Fallout 4. AMAZING GAME. My son told me to play Skyrim. I am only level 26 and just starting but I find I like walking through the landscape as opposed to fast travel. The journey is better than the destination. I have a man pit with a huge TV and surround sound. Nothing like a dark room, perfectly clear graphics and this music. What a perfect game and I so look forward to the months/years ahead of playing this masterpiece.

Agreed. Skyrim on a big screen is great. You can really find yourself sucked into the world. My wife would laugh because I'd sometimes lean my body, trying to see around a corner or a rock outcropping. Or I would give a startled "Aaah!" if something gave me a jump scare. In those moments, you're there. If you thought Fallout 4 was amazing, try New Vegas. It isn't as visually appealing, but the storytelling is far & away superior to Fallout 3 or 4.

My son and I were estranged for a few years after the divorce from his mother. When we re-connected, we told each other about a great game we'd discovered... Skyrim. Our love of the game helped us re-build our relationship, not just as father and son, or Dadda and Mip, but as friends. He has passed since, but I fancy I can feel him tapping my shoulders every now and then to warn me of an enemy I'm not aware of. Playing helps me endure my grief and depression. I'm home.

Shyan Marie So sad that it seems like Jeremy Soule isn’t involved in the development of TES VI, despite wanting to be. And before someone comments saying that I’m just jumping on the Bethesda hate bandwagon, he’s typically made music very early on in development helping “inspire” the team, which is probably why the music always felt so interwoven with the modern TES games.

Skyrim was my best friend in a dark time many moons ago. I was 15, being homeschooled by my mom who had cancer, and I was incredibly depressed and suicidal. We lived in the middle of nowhere and I had no friends besides my brother. He got a new job in another state and moved, but he left me his PS3 and Skyrim. I was utterly alone in every sense, but Skyrim was there for me. In that magical, beautiful world, I got to go on adventures and escape my shitty reality. It will forever be my most beloved game.

When I was a younger kid I would watch my brother play on his Xbox 360 all the time and I did always hear the music, I never exactly paid deep attention to it, but I loved the game. I always wanted to play but my siblings never let me play their video games. Quite a while back, my sister got a PS4, and for the first time, I was able to actually play the game. I hadn’t seen anything from it for a while at the time so it was nostalgic, even if I wasn’t the one playing back then. I was actually so happy, it’s one of my favorite games to this day. When I heard the music for my first time playing the feeling of familiarity made me really emotional, as I never exactly noticed that I had memorized and remembered all the songs, I was wondering why I was able to hum to the songs so well. I heard them constantly that they were kind of just engraved in my brain, unnoticed, waiting to just be pulled out of the deep crevices of my mind. These types of videos bring out a very different side of me. I feel so at peace and focused, which is extremely hard for me. I get distracted very easily and feel the need to be moving around constantly, and very unmotivated. It effects my productivity a lot and these help greatly. It also really helps me relax, which helps since I’m a bit stressed at the moment as the end of my freshman year of high school is coming up, but thanks so much for these videos. - ❤️ Liana

I have the exact same experience except my brother never let me play his oblivion and then just a little bit of Skyrim. I got my first Xbox 360 and got Skyrim and was finally able to play. It brought me to a place I feel was so real. I never felt so good. This music brings back those good times with family where you don’t need to worry about school or work or love with heartbreak...I miss it

(Continuation of what you said there) As I stop in moments to just be in amazement of the beauty of Skyrim, I find myself to be in a place where I shouldnt be or so the bandit says. After I shouted him and his friends to pieces I loot their bodies and take all the gold and I run again into the beauty of Skyrim. The day slowly shifts into nightfall and I climb unto the peek of a small mountain. The night sky covers the land and as I stand on the peek of this mountain, I begin to see the breathtaking two moons of the land accompanied with the stars and auroras that make it even more elegant. Then I began to question my purpose as the dragonborn "People only know me because of my gift, If I didnt have such a gift would people still think Im special?" "Im the Dragonborn and yet I feel the weight of the world is on my shoulders, The fate of all life rests upon me and if I fail? I will have doomed all of the world to the mouth of the World Eater, Alduin" these thoughts encompass around my head. I wait for hours, just waiting, waiting for something. Then I see the sunrise, then I see hope in myself. As the sun rises,t it breaks away the night. I can feel the wind rushing through my body and my iron armor. "I am the one and last Dragonborn, I will save this land and stop the End of the world, I will have the most dangerous quest anyone will ever take and failures not an option, I will vanquish this evil and slay Alduin...because there will be no one else who will do it but me" I say those words of encouragement and went down. But before I step down from the mountain, I look back and stared a bit more to the sunrise and then I head off with a smile.

The love of my life passed away a few months ago. Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind - they all held him together and gave him so much joy and peace. He could escape for hours, days, or weeks into these beautiful lands. The amount of times I've heard 'Hey you. You're finally awake'! He'd love to be an orc or a nord, starting with magic but usually falling back on two-handed weapons. Sometimes he'd be dark, most of the time he'd be good! We used to play together, particularly when I was pregnant with our son because I was so sick. He'd come home from work and find me deep in a barrow or furiously levelling up my alchemy. Then we'd have dinner and he'd play, and I'd watch him until bed. It hurts too much to play at the moment. But I love putting this on as I go about my day and as I get our toddler to sleep. Because it's so familiar and feels like him. Feels like home. I'm glad we were not the only ones who loved Skyrim as keenly as we did. I'm so glad to be a part of this community and one day share it with our son. My the divine bless you on your journey 🙏🌻

The student(s) in the class recommended the soundtrack for this game and the professor changed his tune when he admitted it was actually very well-written and played. Not sure what video had this comment or whether the story is true, but I agree with the sentiment. The soundtrack composed for this game is top-notch, high-quality music.

I love how comments under these types of videos are all warm and nostalgic. For a lot of us Skyrim was the last straw that held our sanity in place. It is our home, our safe space, our little secret. I am too was suicidal and very deeply depressed, and Skyrim basically saved my life. And I have very special memories about this game and how I was dissolving in this world like it's real. I wish all of you people only the best in life. You'll get through it. May your road lead to warm sands.

These videos really helped me through a difficult time in my life, I started listening around the beginning of my freshman year and these videos helped me through that time. I was being bullied and I was severely suicidal, I remember at multiple points holding off ending it because I still had things to do in my Skyrim save. These videos gave me something to think about going home to every day in school and if weren't for them I would have probably been a lot worse off in school. It's my senior year now and these videos still provide me comfort. My life has massively improved since then, no self harm in about 1 year, overhauled my entire outlook on life, got my first 3 close friends (ik it doesn't seem like many but I had literally never had any actual friends until about April of last year), and I finally started unpacking my trauma. The world of Tamriel and gaming in general made my childhood so much better than it would have been and it kept me alive for the last 17 years, anyways thanks for reading this word vomit vent and thank you Todd, for everything

Such a joyous feeling... Feelings of the sensation of walking through the Collage of Winterhold, dining with the jarl of Whiterun, or exploring the caves lurking and crawling with spiders, frost giants and trolls, mining away in the mines or doing a heist for the thieves guild, helping the engineering of the dwarves machines or tampering with the art of Vampires and werewolves, collecting the three scrolls or watching Dragons sour over you and land with a fiery rage in their eyes. This was all so beautiful to experience and enjoy, feeling as if you were in the game, you start to feel nostalgia creep up on and into you every time you see the loading screen followed by the music led in it. Skyrim holds a dear place in my heart, any many others I’m sure, even though it has its moments of frustration in a quest, that’s what makes it challenging and loving, and it was the most loved game to me, and always will be. Say what you must about the NPC’s at times or weird dynamics at times, but honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Skyrim has been such a beautiful mission, and achievement, to hold in my brain, and my heart. It feels as if the magic in this game, has seeped me more into it then ever.
