On the second tombstone I believe the last line is "3D Artist," and was blurred a bit more as it wasn't lore friendly, making the Brandon on the tombstone the Artist Brandon, not the Programmer!

Hey, OG Human Monk of Quellious here...from actual circa 1999, Fennin Ro server. I was also a member of the legendary monk-only guild, Coalition of Fists during my toddler years (pre level 20). Just to represent a little bit, I soloed ALL of the pre-Kunark, monk specific quests. The sashes, the headbands, the Treant fists...even the Robe of the Lost Circle. No trackers, no help outside of Allakhazam's site tips. It was a will-shattering investment of time and effort. Most of it was accomplished through a months long layoff during the DOTCOM crash of 2000, and the Everquest Monk experience gave me something to focus on, outside of my unemployment depression. Real life benefits? I can honestly say that a good portion of the patience I developed doing these quests has made me a better, and more patient husband and father today. It also did a surprisingly good job at preparing me for the COVID19 lock downs. Thank you, Everquest! RIP Brad McQuaid

@@Jesterian Michael's shenanigans does not know the TRUE POWER of the DARKFORGE ARMOR. It allows the wearer to reach so much power that they can challenge the gods themselves! If you cannot use it, there's your first mistake. Make an OGRE SHADOWKNIGHT. IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO REACH TRUE POWER! Totemic armor is NOTHING compared to the POWER of DARKFORGE ARMOR! You must have the FULL SET, or you will not reach the power of the ULTIMATE TUFF OGRE SHADOWKNIGHT MASTER!

Your EQ lore videos are some of my favorite videos on KZfaq. I played EQ for awhile in 2003, and tried recently to play on P99 but I guess I just can't get into it the same these days. I still think it has the best lore of any game ever and I enjoy every time you make a video on it. I could watch EQ lore videos for days (but it seems there's not a large amount on KZfaq.) At any rate, thanks for the great videos.

this is kinda silly, but i love watching your videos despite never having played everquest myself. you perfectly capture the quirkiness of traditions specific to the community and easter eggs/lore that make mmos so unique as a medium (ex. yall have some sort of market cave?? that's so cool!) not to mention your editing and humor are super fun to watch. thank you for making such great content! :)

A monk showed me that hidden area in High Keep around 2017. I had spent a lot of time in there and had absolutely no idea it existed! Almost a little sad to see the secret is out (simply because it's the only I knew of) but very cool to finally see it acknowledged finally!! Glad to see a new video out! Keep up the amazing work!

Your Everquest videos have brought me great interest into this game, I was replaying Champions of Norrath on my PS2 recently and I was fascinated about it's roots so I looked into Everquest. Thats when I found u and now in greatly interested.

Wow... Blown away by the tragic irony of this video (awesome video by the way, love it) that I watched yesterday. So at 7:55 - 9:15 you discuss two graves and who they belong to. This was soo good, I loved every second of it, you have a new subscriber. I've been playing this game since it started in 1999 and I'm still playing my first character, a warrior, born just two months after EQ went live.

Wow. I can't even begin to imagine how that works. Everyone I know, myself included, realize their EQ nostalgia through reiterations of the earliest content, be it via P1999 or the now-regular progression servers. Both are a mixed bag, of course-the former is just a best-guess recreation of the actual experience, while the latter is of course 100% accurate but unfortunately has a lot of elements that are not "classic", including zones, some models, and even some quests. Sticklers like myself are deeply disappointed by how inaccurate P1999 is, when it comes down to it, so I've found the progression servers to be the best option. But... content after PoP? Decades after!? I know it exists, but you're the first person I've ever seen who claims to actually partake of it. Just saying there's a really good reason why they call it P1999 and not "Project EQ For Free".

@@Asterra2 You are absolutely correct. Velious is when the game IMO was the last best expansion. PoP was great but super hard, so hard in fact I had to take a break. After that the game just kept going down hill. I remember when this game got started there wasn't a real internet, mysteries had to be passed from person to person. I remember we had to run across the world, take boats, and run some more. If you died that was a hour lost of travel time and you had to start over again, CRAZY. I would go to the treant camp in south karana and be a banker to exchange copper, silver, gold for platinum for a price, then I would run my slow butt back to a bank to exchange due to the weight. I'm still playing because I love this game even now. My warrior, my first character is 115 and going strong. It's been a long road and I'm glad I was one of the originals of it.

Gotta say, your editing has gotten even better, kudos! I can tell you put a ton of work into this and it shows. It was great, and I laughed many times. Also color me shocked about the clicky hidden door in High Keep! EQ vet here and I had no idea! I Gotta run around p1999 and click on everything just in case there is anything else like that.
