When the FA cup really meant thr world..to the club..the fans..and the rest of the football world...now its not even talked about...such a shame...how many of us..sat with our families...and wstched the ALL DAY build up..the match..various guests...the presentstion....the after match interviews...even if the team you supported werent involved...it was a real all day event....its a crying shame

Best everton performance in last 20 years

As an Evertonian this is one of my fondest memories from my childhood. Spurs were (and still are) the darlings of the media and such strong favorites going in to this semi-final, no one gave us a chance of winning. However, Everton put in a performance which would have probably beaten any team in the world on the day. They destroyed Tottenham. They were brilliant. We deserved to win the cup that year..... AMOKACHI !!!!!

Everton fully deserved the cup that year. Took my teenage son to his first big game only to see our team get thrashed. Strange seating arrangements at Elland Road meant that all Spurs fans were in the large main stand and Everton fans occupied the the three other stands. It helped their team with vocal support from three directions but they didn’t really need it on the day. We both still enjoy supporting Spurs putting ourselves through the endless hope and expectation of actually winning something and look forward to visiting Everton’s new ground soon! COYS

Prior to the match the build up by the BBC pundits had been about their perspective and preferable "dream final" as if Everton were bad for business, as they were expecting Klinsmans Spurs to win and meet Man Utd at Wembley. Well happy to rain on their parade as us Everton fans got our dream final and our dream result !.

The dogs of war as they were called by pundits and media. Everton were difficult to break down at times and Spurs were below par during this match but wtf was Walker giving the ball away for number two? Piss poor!!!!
