Everton have been hit with a 10-point deduction by the Premier League after being found guilty of breaching financial rules.
The Toffees will now drop to 19th in the table on just four points after the ruling, level on points with bottom club Burnley.

A very clear and concise breakdown from Joe. I am not going to sit here and say its corruption or there is an agenda against Everton. But the punishment does not match the crime. Sad sad day for English football. Rules that have been put into place to help protect clubs from going bust could very well place us in a position where we are periously close to administration.

I agree with alot of what you say. If a child breaks a window he has to pay for it out of pocket money. If an adult commits murder he gets a heavy prison sentence or life. The punishment should fit the crime ok these are basic examples, but it illustrates the point. It was judged Everton broke the rules financialy off the pitch therefore why punish Everton on the pitch. Did the club splash the cash on Ronaldo Messi Sala Mbappe purley via fiads back pocket OBVIOUSLY NOT If you were to be sensibly ruthless a fine should of been given. Ie Yes mr fiad we recognise that 3 factors such as a pandemic were not your fault, but you should of made money up. IT WAS NOT FAULT OF PLAYERS COACHING STAFF OR FANS

One rule for Everton and another for Man City! At least Everton did not try and leave the PL like the so called big 6, and what punishment did they get for that? certainly no points deduction. Football in this country is corrupt to the bone!

Behave. We've had a decade of unfounded attacks on our club. You weren't getting in the super league so don't make out your club would've turned it down.

@@SuperCityMCFCCity & Chelsea only got their success because the PL allowed them to have an unrestricted transfer policy. Then they decide to bring in FFP. FFP doesn't damage the favoured clubs like it does the rest. The PL have put a stop to doing a City/Chelsea. So that is favouritism towards those clubs.

I'm thinking that the Premier League cannot give points back to Everton due to Burnley Leicester Leeds blaming us for their relegation due to our spending. Albeit that we haven't been free spending in the last two seasons. So no advantage there.

ESL is a complete different thing - its been brought up a few times in different media. It doesnt impact the contest on the field every match day, while if a club breaches financial rules to field a better team that impacts every other club in the league while that unfair advantage is in place. Everton deserve credit for basically admitting the charge. And 10 points is steep. But for the Blues it is not a death sentence in terms of demotion given how bad the other teams at the bottom of the league are. i would take the punishment, play my way to staying in the division AND then use the punishment as a lever to ensure every other club is held to the same standard... looking along the East Lancs road... Its probably lucky that the Blues didnt cop this punishment in the previous 2-3 seasons...

Only one person to blame at everton football club and that's the owner moshiri, everton supporters should sue moshiri for miss ownership of the club and demand season ticket money back etc, moshiri out

10 points is excessive . Maybe 3-6 . But when you spend more money than you make and they have been investigating the last 2.5 years . Cmon this aint out of the blue
