People who knock the Evertune tend to not really understand why it's so good and usually they've never tried one. I get some people don't like the aesthetic, but it's functionally amazing. I heard someone say that the slight out of tune sound of a guitar makes it more "real" and that they enjoy that sound and what's wrong with tuning? First of all, if you feel that way, the Evertune isn't for you, and that's fine. Secondly - saying you enjoy the process of tuning is like saying your favorite part of making a meal is washing up.

The Evertune is undoubtedly a marvel of engineering but my main gripe with them is that they substantially change the tone of the guitar. I'm such a dictator about guitar tone that I refuse to put covers on my pickups even when they aesthetically make sense or would boost the cosmetic look of the instrument to a noticeable degree, so a bridge that "deadens" sound or subtracts from it in any capacity is simply unacceptable to me. I'll deal with turning tuning keys every so often to have the sound I'm used to and that makes me happy.

I'm interested with Solar A1.8C with Evertune bridge, but I'm afraid I could regret the choice, since those guitars are not cheap for me, it's a several month of work to get the money. I like bendings, but I won't be changing tunings a lot. first 6 strings I want in standard E, then 2 extra string on 8 string guitar I would like to change from standard tuning to DROPS. But I just started to read about evertune bridges. So I'm still not sure what possible and what not. Does it affect the natural sound of guitar or does it sound perfectly fine as normal bridges.

Personally....I have no problem tuning a guitar, and any good guitar with a proper set up, good tuning keys, a well cut nut, and a good quality bridge, has next to no tuning issues to begin with. I have guitars that stay in tune for months without needing adjustment. As far as the feature of removing all inconsistencies from your playing by eliminating string bends etc. That's just awful. Why would anyone ever want to eliminate articulation from their playing? Craziness. It's a cool piece of equipment, definitely an accomplishment, but I can't say I'm on board with the hype train.

I have the orange burst one Joss is playing and after sanding down the neck to matte it's been the guitar I play the most surprisingly, surprising to me because I don't usually prefer LP shapes and I've got guitars costing twice as much on the rack next to it. Between the quality, reliability of tuning, and then how good it feels to play its just a great workhorse. Looks great especially with the binding

Well, i do have my Jim Root Tele with the Evertune equipped. I just love this bridge. The guitar is literally tuned forever, the tone itself is stable without any clip and with any attack put on the strings. Also now ANY tuning is available for me with 25.5 six string guitar. Once i tuned down to Drop F# and it sounded great. So i fully recommend it!

You can talk about what you like and don't like about the look and that's perfectly fine and i respect it but the evertune is objectively speaking the best guitar bridge. Perfect tuning and intonation? Check. if you do any live gigging or recording it is basically a godsend. So many hours saved (that means changing strings less often when recording and saving money on studio time) with no tuning between every single take, no repeating takes because it sounds "off", playing an entire live set without having to check tuning between every single song...Its function over form. I like stratocasters or Les Pauls. They are great guitars but they have many designing flaws. The Les Paul headstock design is awful for the strings and causes tuning issues. The big block on the strato neck joint gives easily the worst upper neck access ever. The new abasi guitars are "ugly" but they are ergonomic as fck in comparison.

They are pretty amazing. I personally like the floyd rose for the option but this bridge is incredible! For anyone that has a problem with the looks or thinks it's ugly you are focusing on the wrong characteristics of a guitar. Sound and playability is number one and these bridges have the playability down.

If youre not changing string gauges its actually not that big of a Deal. Just string through, adjust the tension at the top and tune it down at the bridge. Not as fast as your Standard string-through TOM or hipshot, but imo faster than string changes on a floyd

Way better than a Floyd no balancing act unless you’re changing string gauge but if anything leagues better than a Floyd, simply not going to be like a hardtail speed though however it’s the trade off for the tuning stability

I bought an EC 1000 around 10 years ago with an Evertune bridge. Actually this guitar was so good and saved me such a lot of time when recording that I sold all my other guitars because I wasn't using them anymore. As far as regarding weight, I don't really notice a difference. I never regretted getting this guitar I can say though. Be careful with other models. I've heard Evertune guitars that had a really bad lifeless tone, especially ones that had installed this bridge as a replacement for a normal one. Always test it first or send it back, if it's weird.

The way I see it is, it's a great thing to have but not if it's your only guitar. Just like a Floyd. They are awesome, but more so as a second or third guitar. Well for many people anyways. I have both 6 and 7 string evertune based guitars but now I am done with them. I love both guitars but that's all I want of that bridge. While it is amazing, it's also limiting.

I mean if you do a lot of bending then the Evertune is pretty pointless. You have to pull the string taught enough to move the saddle into zone 3, and after a bit of playing there'll be enough slack in the string to have moved the saddle back down into low-zone 3 or even zone 2, so you need to "tune" back into mid to late zone 3 just to get your bend-ability back. Really no different than having to tune on a normal bridge. If you don't do a lot of bending, though, the Evertune is pretty much the best thing ever.

A Guitar is never perfectly intonated to true temperament without true temperament frets. A Guitar can be perfectly intonated to JUST INTONATION with straight frets. The western world of music arrived at the compromise of just intonation for better or for worse, lol.
@AnonymousUser66649
@AnonymousUser66649 4 жыл бұрын
The point is that evertune does not fix intonation so that every fret would be intonated to perfection at all. It's impossible with straight frets. Evertune helps with intonation if you tend to have a heavy touch, but even then you have to use the NO BEND Mode on the bridge. It's just wrong and confusing that people use the words "perfect intonation" when talking about guitars.
@ZenonShandro
@ZenonShandro 4 жыл бұрын
@@AnonymousUser66649 I guess that's true in a sense because the evertune helps to mitigate accidental pitch Bend from picking or pressing too hard as I understand it, right? the only thing is unless every instrument in a given band or ensemble is playing to true temperament,then everyone's going to be out of tune in relationship to each other, despifte assuming that their instruments are perfectly made anyway.

If you're constantly retuning between takes/songs then you aren't doing it right. Not worth searching for a guitar that has one already on it. Definitely not worth purchase and install. Stretch your strings properly the first time. It's an expensive shortcut to a little work. With a standard nut and parallel frets, perfect intonation WILL NOT HAPPEN. Let's not be sucked into the illusion. People act like it singlehandedly is saving the guitar world.
