Then again, a lot of peoplei say that the only reason Denzel Washington won, was because at the BAFTA awards Russell Crowe got cut off on the speech he was making for best actor in Great Britain for some reason. It’s a real shame because nobody could’ve done a job better than Russell Crowe for A Beautiful Mind. But he refused to toe the line as far as Academy is concerned. And they didn’t like his attitude about it so they picked the next best thing and that was Denzel Washington. So in my opinion Russell Crowe got robbed of an Oscar because the academy decided to cut off his acceptance speech. It’s a real shame.

Who could ever forget Warner Baxter’s incredible performance in Old Arizona, in 1929? Everyone on planet earth forever until till the end of time raises hands simultaneously: “Me!”

Keaton should’ve won for Birdman in 2014. Redmayne was great, but Keaton was goddamn phenomenal. Awesome video!

Redmayne shouldn't have even been nominated. His win was a damn insult.

@@thefilmseeker How can you say that his nomination was an insult ?
@RandomlyAwesome286634 жыл бұрын
No, the real person who deserved it was Jake Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler, he was snubbed for even a nomination and easily deserved the Oscar.
@heatherp.69064 жыл бұрын
liam you got me there, he was completely snubbed
@thefilmseeker4 жыл бұрын
@@shakthiganesh5117 Because in a world where he was the least deserving nominee, and you got Jake Gyllenhaal and David Oyelowo who weren't even nominated, his win felt insulting.

There's always years open for debate; but sometimes a performance is so devastating, overwhelming that it just blows the competition away. e.g DDLewis in 'There will be blood', Nicolas Cage in "Leaving LV', McConaughey in 'Dallas B Club', Joaquim Phoenix in 'Joker'. Other times it is really the film that has elevated the actor; other times it is like a tribute to a deserving actor, who has been overlooked, and just deserves statue.

@@mark_plays3669 That's not even close to true - Jamie Foxx is dang good in that, Leo did a fine job, Don Johnson was hateable and funny, and Samuel L. Jackson was the perfect villain. Waltz was great in the film, but he didn't carry it at all because everybody else carried their own weight.

The clip for Rex Harrison has Rex Harrison in it for about three seconds. He exits the room at the beginning of the scene. The clip features Wilfred Hyde-White on the phone.
