Funny thing is that solos was the only mode i enjoyed, i quit playing when they removed it and I still don't play Apex since then. Pretty sad they didn't implement solos for good.

3rd Winter Express mode did see a small change with weapon loadouts, actually. Instead of legend/class specific it was just preset loadouts you could choose from.

I kinda hope in the future the Christmas event gets a new mode which is just a snowball fight, we could finally get a solo mode lol (snowball would just be a retextured throwing knife)

Now we don't even get events to test new features. We are just full on beta testers seeing what's broken in the game with each update

I feel like if they dropped the event modes and just focused on more legends, less bugs, and a new map here and there, that would be enough for me. Instead of focusing on so many new things, just focus on making the Legends better (more passive abilities, things only your legend can do). It's literally what made this game.

So the "Broken Ghost" was no event? I guess not like the others since it took a whole season to complete. But what about the April Fools Events? That led to the Mozambique's improvements.

Valentine's Day 2019 had a badge, Pathfinder Banner and Long Bow Skin. Valentine's Day 2020 added new badge, the return of last years cosmetics and newly added Pathfinder Weapon Charm. The After Market Event, also brought crossplay. There was also a 1st Year Anniversary Event in 2020, it featured badges for when you started playing the game, and Origami Flyer weapon charm. The 2nd Year Anniversary Event in 2021, brought the newly added recolor of older skins in the red in black, game modes, new badges and weapon charms. The badges weren't based on, when you started to play the game, they were Complete 75 daily challenges for Nessie's Big Day, Deal 102,816 damage for Mozam-Beast, Win a game with 8 different legends for Smolfinder Here, and Earn all other Anniversary Badges for Legendary Anniversary

I don’t understand how solos hurt player retention when trios was still in the game? Every other br has solos and u don’t play it if u don’t want to. Maybe they wanted more players in trios for a bigger player pool or some money reason so people would play different legends more often

Solos would become a campfest. Regular competitive games already run 20-23ish minutes with camping mainly happening in the last 3 circles. The player base would be more divided and Apex is a HERO based BR. The only truly viable solo legends are those with movement or wraith and lifeline. Maps are pretty big aside from KC. I’m willing to bet they’ve play tested solos many of times. If it were beneficial it would’ve been added. Furthermore it is extremely difficult to win a solos match. Players would play a few games die and then get off Apex frustrated. Thus hurting retention. That’s why after a few hard games you’re given and easier lobby with a better chance at winning to make you play more and longer :) it’s a dirty little dev trick MANY companies use.

I remember back before octane was announced/released I had a dev in my game testing his jump pad. It was super buggy but I understood it was some type of jump pad. It was trippy actually seeing it in the game later on

The badge you showed for 2019 winter express is not correct. The badge is called track master but the picture you showed it the 2020 holo-day bash badge.

Solos ruined retention....it was for 2 days?!?!? Best mode and should be there...basically makes the game a freak in the genre because of the lack of the mode
