One thing he left out--what is used to make meat taste so good? Ah yes, plants! In seasoning--the use of herbs and spices--enhances the flavor. Without seasoning, most everyone (in this day and age at least) wouldn't participate in the consumption of meat. And there are plant-based alternatives (with similar texture) that we can season in the same we do meat minus the cruelty and it can taste pretty spot on.

Born Yesterday could you elaborate on that? How is having a street debate forcing your ideas on others? It’s not about forcing anything. If anything the meat and dairy industry forces schools and doctors to advertise their products. Vegans are forced to see meat adverts everywhere they go. Kids are usually forced to finish their dinner even if they don’t want to eat meat. There’s many videos of kids online getting upset and not wanting to eat meat but you see their parents forcing them to do so. Again, could you elaborate on how having a debate and going against societies norms is forcing an idea on others? You willingly clicked on his video. Nobody is holding a gun to anyone’s head, apart from the cows and pigs who are being bolt gunned to death. So please, elaborate on how he is forcing his ideas on others?

@@madeleineb9543 how sad, the poor children are forced to finish their food. At least they have food. Their parents work for the food they put on the table and they'll be wasteful if they allow their child throw it away. No seriously y'all need to offer all this meat you don't want to the tons of children I come in contact with here in my country. They will cry and thank you asking God to bless you for your kindness. Parents are doing what they can okay? Not everyone has the access to this lifestyle like you. Try to understand.

I like this man because his has arguments and is actually logical in what he says. However some of his arguments are invalid, because eating meat doesn’t necessary mean that we support making animals suffer or stress. What vegans commonly show are violent images of animal industry that are cruel to animals, but most vegans imply that this is the case for EVERY industry or animal farms. I do not support the violence, the stress or suffering certain industries inflict to animals, however I support killing them if it is painless. Doing it without inflicting any pain or stress is responsible, plus don’t vegans believe in God, paradise or reincarnation? Either way, it is better for animals to live a short life, then reincarnate in a better place or go to paradise, than living a long and boring life on Earth, like what can a cow do to enjoy life besides eating, sleeping and reproducing? It is proven that doing the same things again and again makes time seems very short, like if you play CoD everyday for one year and only doing that, you would be surprised how fast this year would pass. So it doesn’t matter for the cow to live a year or twenty like that, it would feel the same. Habits make time short. Plus if everyone turned vegan, then animals would reproduce naturally, given that humans will soon need more and more space, what would happen when animals take too much space for us humans to live? The solution? Support producing animal products in a responsible way. It doesn’t change the fact that we can eat meat, plus products made in a responsible way are of better quality because stress and suffering really degrade the final products. And what is wrong with killing animals in the responsible way? Ok they don’t always want to die, but do they also necessarily want to live either? As I wrote earlier, habits makes time short, but if you were, let’s say, eating alone, sleeping, and playing video games alone (or maybe just staring at nature) everyday in your life, sometimes reproducing with a random person, and having your parents, and children doing the same things everyday during your whole life, and not caring about them at all after a little while after being born or giving birth, to the point of not noticing them missing, then would you mind if they were dead, and would you also mind dying tomorrow or in two years, or dying naturally? What I just described is the whole life of a chicken in a responsible farm. They had the time enjoy everything life could possibly offer to them before dying instantly without pain, and without knowing they would die. That’s my point of view on this whole debate, but did someone actually read all my comment after reading that I support killing animals painlessly, and properly reflected about that before replying to me and insulting me because I am not vegan?

Seems to me like some percentage of humans are just intolerant in general, and both meat-eaters and vegetarians/vegans fall into that category at roughly equal proportions. Just because you've never pressured someone doesn't mean others haven't. Similarly, just because many meat-eaters have pressured you doesn't mean that all or even most are pressuring the vegan/vegetarian group. This seems like something you'd better fact-check BEFORE making up your mind about the conclusion. Not all crops do well on compost, not all plants do well on all compost, and turning plantwaste directly into high quality food via animals seems like a pretty efficient way to go. It seems you're tryng to push an oversimplified one size doesn't quite fit all solution to agriculture to support an outcome you reached for reasons completely unrelated to agricultural science. p.s. I'm not sure what you hope to achieve by suggesting alternative ways of sugar production. Usually the choice for sugar-beet or sugar cane depends on the climate involved.

Now have been vegan for 10 months and honestly can never see myself going back. It’s one of the easiest switches I’ve ever made to dramatically reduce my environmental impact and opened my eyes to animal rights (including human rights too). If you’re reading this and are unsure about whether to try going vegan, why not? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Once you try some new recipes or switch/add/cut some ingredients, you realise it’s really not that hard. It’s changed my life in an overwhelmingly positive way :) thank you Ed!

Raymond Flores personal anecdotes are not a sufficient argument. he said in the video and you can look it up for yourself, meat is known to cause many types of cancers, diabetes, heart disease and stroke while veganism is known to reverse 14 of the 15 leading causes of death in the world. you think vegans are weak? well the only person to qualify for the olympics in weightlifting for america was a vegan in 2016, and he also won a gold medal in weightlifting at that olympics. further, what you said about meat lowering stress hormones is just wrong. that's not supported by any scientific literature, you literally came up with that on the spot because you don't want to admit eating meat is wrong. How can you be against killing an organism that isn't sentient and isn't even visible to the human eye that is inside of another human being acting like a parasite, but you're fine with abusing, mutilating, artificially inseminating, forcibly impregnating live, fully sized sentient animals who feel pain and don't want to die

check out carnivoremd on youtube. many things that has been said in this video are simply not true and misleading unfortunately. but more importantly, we can't argue with health. Ive done some research on actual health, the actual nutrients we need (without supplements and chemically processed foods that most vegans use daily to keep it up) are in animals, that's how we've evolved over a couple million years. also, plants dont want to be eaten either, and since they cant run away because theyre stuck in the ground, they fight a chemical war instead. they secrete toxic defense chemicals that we consume and cause all kinds of issues in our gut, body and health. I wish it weren't so. Ive even been vegan for a few months, ive tried pretty much all diets in search of what actual health is. but it's a plain fact, that the most nutrient rich and nutrient dense foods are animal foods. if you care about your health, just look up the contents, minerals and vitamins inside any plant, even those so called 'superfoods', and then compare them to any animal based food. then you'll see what's the actual superfood.

@@evanmotions All animal products other than meat weren´t consumed in human development until a few thousand years ago. So it wouldn´t make any sense that they were (or are) neccessary. And eating meat just can´t be ethical in any way. Plants don´t have any central nervous system so no they don´t have a "will" not to be eaten, just evolutionary the ones that produced said substances survived. Also to produce meat even more plants are needed as the animal´s food so even if plants did that, we would do less harm being vegan. There is also no statistical difference when it comes to vitamin deficiencies, so that is also grasped out of thin air. Most vegans research their nutrition more in general which can equalize that e.g. plant protein isn´t metabolized as well. But is that a bad thing? I don´t think so. I am gladly doing a little bit of research if I´m potentially saving several lives and improving my own health :)

Secondly his argument against hypocresy is untenable because for what justice and rights concerns the intention or propability is irrelevant, and as long you know that the some animals are guaranted to be killed they will be charge of murder (if this is denied then Externalities like CO2 aren't punishable). Thirdly without reciprocity there is no rights even trought childs and those that suffer of mental illness cannot reciprocate individually they reciprocate as menbers of the human species. @@Hannah-zw9ow Hi Hannah, the issue is not with the ideas as logical constructs; the manner of presenting these ideas can influence how they are perceived. For instance, if Ed was shouting everything, gesticulating wildly and making aggressive eye contact, all up in your face, then his body language would be violent and thus his peaceful message would get lost. Do you see what I mean? It's like with any teaching, if nothing is learned then the teaching doesn't work, regardless of how brilliant the content, so this is the problem with presenting arguments in an 'emotional' manner. Presenting 'emotional arguments' is a different thing as emotional reasoning is a cognitive distortion where a person concludes that their emotional reaction proves something is true, regardless of evidence proving otherwise. Your emotions cloud your thoughts, which in turn clouds your reality. Have you not found that when dealing with anything in life, it is best to be calm?

check out carnivoremd on youtube. many things that has been said in this video are simply not true and misleading unfortunately. but more importantly, we can't argue with health.

It is disgustingly cruel to take away a baby from a mom, for whom her milk was produced originally, and give it to human children who only need their own mothers milk and to adults who don’t even drink the breastmilk anymore but somehow think it is ok to drink it from an animal which walks on hooves, has four-chamber stomach and eats grass. Don’t you find it inhumane? Cow-moms do cry when their baby is taken away from them. Dont you at least find it weird that we still eat stuff from some other animals’ tits, like milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.

Mienke Veneman I think he knows vegetarians may think they are making an ethical choice but they don’t realize the horrible and short life the cows go through to create the dairy products they are using. Also there are a lot of male chicks and cows that are killed immediately because they don’t produce eggs and milk. The animals are all slaughtered in a few short years when they are not producing the products you like to consume. If you aren’t a vegetarian for ethical reasons you may not care about any of that. Jack Matthews The reason he went vegan is because he managed to align his morals with his actions. Vegan lifestyle means not harming animals, the environment, improving your health, and you are saying that he is not intelligent because he is vegan??? So, by your logic, there are no intelligent vegans out there? Ridiculous 😆. Go vegan people 🌱 And subscribe to Earthling Ed ;)

I didn’t go vegan, because I no longer enjoyed the taste of animal products, I went vegan for the vulnerable, innocent living beings suffering every single day for unnecessary reason, I went vegan, because the animal agriculture is the leading cause of climate change, gas emissions, deforestation, specie extinction, and somehow, we manage to feed 56 billion livestock animals, when 800 million people are starving to death. It just never felt right. What stops you from going vegan? 💚

@@obilim2155 I'd like to reply to you even though you didn't ask me I personally don't eat insects, I don't like saying that I'm not allowed to, because it's a choice. I understand that it is way harder to feel compassion for a fly than for a cow, but as they still feel pain and as I consider that there is no need for humans to eat them, I have no reason to do so.

check out carnivoremd on youtube. many things that has been said in this video are simply not true and misleading unfortunately. but more importantly, we can't argue with health.

It’s an interesting point about plant toxins, however, two extra things to think about: - all food you eat will contain “toxins” and harmful chemicals. It has been show that stressed and poorly raised animals release harmful chemicals too. The meat is worse nutritionally and in taste. Slaughter is extremely stressful for animals. - plant toxins have been shown to increase your health precisely because they DO put your own cells under stress. There are many papers and articles that demonstrate that mild stress the plant defences put on you makes you stronger.

Ichigo Go for it! I was once a takeaway queen, KFC, maccas, dominos...you name it - I loved it! I was an “animal lover” who “could never be vegan” But now I’ve not eaten any meat in 12 years, and been vegan going on 7. Honestly, the first few months are the only tricky part, get through that and get well educated on vegan nutrition (as well as following activists, to keep the passion and fire you have) because it can be tricky if you have lots of push back from family and friends. Have you seen Ed’s series on his YT channel called “30 days 30 excuses”? It can be helpful in answering objections from other people. Also Lily Koi Hawaii has good vegan nutrition videos. Never lose sight of why you choose to be vegan, after a while it’s so easy. You will simply stop seeing animal flesh and animal products as “food”. All the best my friend.

Thank you for your very clear argument! I myself am a vegetarian trying to reduce egg and dairy. I am aware that this still leaves some impact on the animals and ecosystems. But I still believe it's better than eating meat every day. In discussions with others I often encourage reducing meat consumption. Personally, I think, that many don't reduce their meat consumption because they think it's either of these absolutes meat-eating or vegan. Just food for thought. This video certainly helped me going further in the direction of veganism.
