Welcome to Liesl's Artistic Studio! This is so beautifully elegant Liesl! I really appreciate you taking the time to explain the process of how you paint to achieve the transparency of the petals. I so agree with you that this is watercolor displayed in all her glory! I also wanted to thank you for the close up shots of your composition while you’re painting. Yes, watercolors are magical aren’t they!? I just love what they can do! I really enjoyed creating this piece, it was just pure fun. 🥰 I’m glad the “close up” shots are helpful! I think my editing has gotten better over the years, in fact, I find it a little humorous to watch some of my very first tutorials compared to what I put out now! 😅 I guess anything can be improved with a bit of practice! I actually think this is your best yet! It’s soo intricate. I’m going to try and do this using water colour pencils. Might be able to get a similar effect! ❤️

So to make the darker purple did use more pigment?

Yes, it’s just more concentrated and not as watered down. 😊
