Barbarians may not be the best class in DnD 5e, but they have some pretty neat subclasses. I try to explain all nine of them as fast as humanly possible to help you decide which one is best for you.
It’s not exactly a barbarian subclass tier list, but I do give ratings for each one. Even the best barbarian subclasses don’t break B-tier, though, and some might consider me generous for even giving them that.

totem warriors deserve more credit then you gave them, the bear totem barbarian becomes pretty well indestructible when they rage

Beast shifter barb is definietly alot of fun mechanically and story wise. Basically the lycanthropic equivalent of going super saiyan 2. Totem might be busted, but beast is probsbly my personal favorite

I like beast over totem too, just for the variety. I never liked being locked into one level 3 totem ability

It might not be official-ish but I would’ve liked to have seen the Tal’Dorei Path of the Juggernaut get a mention, would’ve liked to have seen your take on it.

Oo, I’ve never actually seen one played/played one. Just browsing their features quickly, looks like they’d be good with a control-focused group. Set up web/spike growth, push enemies into it, repeat. Seems like a pretty fun play style with party buy-in. Flavor-wise, I dig the “unstoppable force + immovable object” thing they’ve got going on.

I forgot that berserkers can frighten. It takes your action and the dc should be pretty low since it’s 8+chr+proficiency. It’s not a feature that you’re ever likely to use.
