BF3, period. It took the first huge leap forward from past titles.

It's hard for me to express in words what I felt when playing Bad Company 2, for me it will always be the best shooter. Hopefully one day we can have a Battlefield again that makes us feel something similar to what we had in those good times.

BF3 has always had a special place for me. I know Caspian Border better than my hometown, lol. Also, with each expansion you know what you’re getting, there’s always a focus: close quarters, vehicles, devastated maps etc.

For me the game I've had most fun so far is Hardline. Sandboxy style, fast TTK, lots of humour and worked out of the box. Visceral made the most underrated BF so far for me😁

Love your content so really sorry to hear how you were treated during bfv. I played 1942 when it was released and it blew my mind. Getting into a car, then a tank, then a plane, then an aircraft carrier, then a submarine, it was unlike anything else we'd ever seen. Fir that reason alone it will always be top tier for me, but I think you just had to be there for that. Laying mines on the road to the secret airfield on Gazala will always be a treasured memory, so many kills...

for me, i'd swap BF3 and BF4 .. but I get it, i was playing it when it came out and.. it was just a nostalgia to keep coming back. Hope they can recapture either of those... in the next title

You should not apologize for giving YOUR rating of how YOU feel/felt playing the games. I think unscripted content is nice, but you should do what you feel more comfortable doing. I will be watching regardless of scripted or not. Enjoying your content.

BF3 was the best. That game has us all playing with our squad mates all day and night. That's what made is so special.

Battlefield 2 was the true king! The King's crown in this game was the COMMANDER mode/role. Additionally, the ability to disable/sabotage/blow up enemy radar buildings or UAV systems with a C4 explosive added depth to the game. Nothing surpassed the fun of being a Commander and dropping a precisely aimed supply box on a lone enemy sniper camping in a remote bush. Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 4 were all fantastic upgrades that followed BF2. However, as impressive as their graphics, destruction, and improved mechanics were, they couldn't quite match the pure nostalgia of the time spent in BF2, especially on the sunny beaches of Wake Island in 2007...

This is a great ranking video. Although I haven't played all the older ones, but BF1 still manages to impress me. It's also in first place for me. Keep it up, greetings from Hungary :)

What a great tier list, and a great video! I have to say, this unscripted, more casual style of content is really chill and relatable for a youtube video so I'd personally enjoy more of it in this channel. Secondly, I'm sorry for what happened to you in BFV... that game was a bad time for this community and to see what you had to go through and the negativity towards you was so unjust 😣 Lastly, I have to say that other than putting BF2042 in the _"okay"_ category and putting BF3 at the top, the rest of the list is pretty much what I'd personally go for. I loved Battlefiels Hardline. It was fast pace, lots of CQB, something I loved. It wasn't the open fields and endless sniper pits we got now. It broke the map up giving you a chance to move fast from spot to spot, evens when you spawned it the startingpoint by accident. Kinda want to see a Hardline based game during the prohibition era. The fight between the Maffia and the police.

Bf 2142 was the one that I loved the most till 3 came out because titan mode was so fantastic, and I'm glad that they made a spiritual successor mode in bf 4. I'm really hoping they bring this mode back again in the future.

I was playing battlefield PFF in 2010. I had the cheapest computer and it played so well. The game was literally on a website. Good Graphics and vehicles were actually playable

I am sorry to hear of the hate you encountered during the BFV era, the game was in a shocking state early on, but improved and was decent in the end. Great work, and I like this format. I just wish I loved BF1 as much as the community as a whole does. I just could never get into it, unfortunately. For me, 1942 is what started my love of this franchise. Specifically, all of the excellent (and free!) mods that were made for it like Desert Combat, Eve of Destruction, Forgotten Hope, and Galactic Conquest (Star Wars mod that was hit with a Lucasfilm cease and desist). Without Desert Combat, we wouldn't have seen BF2. I also think Hardline would've done better without being in the Battlefield franchise. It did a lot of things right, but just couldn't get the critical mass of players behind it. At least on PC in North America.

But I also love 2042 being able to play against bots or portal because of a slow connection. Always loved the series. YOU, are awesome!

Nostalgia is really skewing people's ratings on the older games. Replayed BF3 / BF4 recently and jesus they're just so bland, but I guess they're old so kinda expected. Still have no idea how I clocked in 1k+ hours on both without being bored out of my mind though. People saying they don't have anything to do in 2042 should really try playing the older titles to see how entertainment value has changed

My view of BF5 is also negatively coloured by the misogynist "fan" reaction. I've played it a little bit, and can see that the game is OK (though not the subject matter I'm interested in), and it's impressive how the "fans" reacted so negatively when they got what they've always (at least since BF2) clamored for, i.e. more individualised looks/skins. Otherwise I would also move BF1 to OK, since I am totally uninterested in the subject. It's a good game, but not my game. BF4 probably deserves its position, but like you said about so many titles, I didn't play it so much, since it was so broken at launch that I gave up on it, and never really got into it. Non-BF games like Heroes and Hardline are just that - non-BF, and BF1943 was too bare-bones for me, but OK. I never played BF1942, or Vietnam. For me, BF2 is the OG Battlefield game I compare all the others against. It's not the best, but it's really good. BC, BC2, and BF3 are what you put as top-tier. And then there is Battlefield 2142. It is my jam, the very best Battlefield ever, and on its very own top tier. Also, since 2042 is (seems to be?) completing the worldbuilding towards 2142, 2042 joins BC, BC2 on your top tier. (I avoided 2042 until I saw people start saying it was at least OK, so I didn't have the trauma I got with BF4. Actually, both BF3 and BF4 get bonus points since there are easter eggs, and forward-pointing parts that refer to BF2142. In the DLC Final Stand, circle strafing with the hover tank was a lovely throwback to BF2142 ...

2002 was the year when Dice changed the scen for FPS shooters bringing 64 players by land and air into battle. It was a game changer and for us old enough today, I think we still chase those BF moments in the newer games. I would for that reason rank it in top. At the same time if you where not there I guess it looks like a very oooooold game with little fun....but back in the days it was a blast !! Time goes on and not everything gets old with beauty. Do you remember what most did with the bomber in El Armien?

Bf2042 is now in a state that it should of been at release

2142 is my goat. In terms of futuristic shooters, it has an amazing setting and story (even if it isnt told) for a game 135 years in the future at the time. Its not over the top, its still pretty grounded in realism - people just overlook it because it doesnt offer much that bf2 doesnt aside from titan mode and the class system and its progression. The fact that Bf2 gets so much love but 2142 is forgotten despite them being so similar, is a crime imo.

Looking back at each one and considering the polished game, I think your choices are close to my own opinion. BFBC2 is undoubtedly my favourite but BF1 was an absolute pleasure (very thoughtfully and respectfully created). I would have lowered BF3 by one position. It's slightly more memorable than BF4 though (which was a bland fuster cluck). 1943 was fun but a little limited in maps. I think Hardline suffered most from dodgy private servers, which in turn diverted too many players away from good content. I really don't like Battlefield 5. The maps are beautiful yet incredibly dull to play. The hyper-active player movement was horrible (and still is). I hope you blocked or reported the morons that posted insulting remarks. Presently trying to decide whether to play 2042 or not. Haven't played BF2, BF Vietnam, Heroes or (sadly) 2142.

It doesnt get better...: BF1, BFBC2 (BF1 atmosphere and ost, holy shit, I wish we had just one more war game like this, I will never forget those Operations matches; BFBC2 was such a vibe, those Rush macthes in the snow and the M-COMs beeping, i keep remembering those days) Enjoyable: BF3, BFV (Maybe it was metro that gave me PTSD that's why it's here and Bad company up there, and BFV is here because I love ww2 games and the Pacific Maps were one of the best experiences) Don't be sad...: BF2042 (Enjoyable/Okay for now, but seriously, in the future this game will be long forgotten, the only memories this game gave me were the memes and it's failure) The rest I didn't play, only betas and demos sometimes

I started playing BF when BF3 launched. BF3 is classic G.O.A.T game. BF3 was ahead of it's time, there was nothing like it at the time. All the other games felt cartoonish but BF3 felt like super real.

Bf1 was thee best of the franchise and then bf4 for me.

From running around like a headless chicken when i first started playing the game to a more than 20,000 jet kills attack jet pilot, there’s no other better game than this one in the next couple of years ahead lol

I really enjoyed you going unscripted, & I’m really sorry you had to go through that bullshit with BFV, I barely started playing it last year & it’s been a lot of fun but I also enjoy BF1 & 4 a little more, I sadly never got into the MP side of the Bad Company games when I was little because I would just replay the campaigns 🤣

BF1 was a nice game with breathtaking moments. But it was the beginning of the end of Battlefield. It was flat in comparsion to 4, 3, BC2 and 2. and this 4 games are the best. 3+4 are very similar. In 3 there was a great time when the DLCs come out. One for the drivers and pilots, one for the cqb players and some for all. Now so much of the maps are dead… 4 hasn’t a good start but in this time 3 was still great. After a while 3 goes more in the background and 4 was the star. 4 is dying now… but 4 was living longer than hardline (could be a bf4 dlc), 1 and V. They should do 3+4 in a box and polish that with the graphics from 1, some features from V (take ammo from supporter) and good is it

You should try Battlefield 2: Modern Combat sometime. You can still play multiplayer on PS2 with an emulator or a (I think) North American PS2.

I have to agree, BF5 was great, but it had some of the most toxic comments in the chat I've seen since the UT days, so no surprise there. And it got worse after the cheating increased. I can't comment on the list as I didn't play most of them (I was a COD junkie at the time), just BF5 and 2042 and I'm really enjoying 2042.

My top 5 are BF1, BF2042, BC2,BF4 and Hardline. To me BFV was a disappointment. They cut content way to early. At this point BF2042 is getting more support than BfV ever did. Plus the community was extremely toxic till the very end to that game. It was horrific. The community was super toxic to BF2042 also but now days is not as bad. Not compared to BFV. At least now we still got content creators making BF2042 games. Hardline is underrated just because it wasn’t soldiers. But Visceral developers made a great game that was fun. Great DLC maps too.

To each their own, I couldn't get into BF1 or V cause I just don't care for the older weapons. Owned them both and wouldn't even put them in the "Okay" category. BF4 and BC2 were the pinnacle for me, followed by BF2 and 3. BF1942 was ok until the Desert Combat mods came out for it then WOW! So much fan based content! For me, that's where it all started.
