My favorites of the month were the Love Me With Lies trilogy by Tarryn Fisher! (The Opportunist , Dirty Red, Thief.) Beautiful writing, morally gray characters, angsty, each book in the pov of one person in a twisted love triangle. (Book 1 & 3 were my faves. I hate Leah, but Tarryn has a way of making me feel slight sympathy for her in the 2nd book. Olivia & Caleb meet in college, and it spans a good ten years of them missing out and sabotaging situations before they can have another chance. Painful at times but addicting.

A love letter to whiskey - I wish…WISH…it was alt POV. I thought five stars too. Loved it as I was reading then I got to the end/middle and was angry that it wasn’t alt POV. But yes, the writing was phenomenal and I too was rooting for the characters. Hated and loved them ha ha

Larry, the reason why I rated Bride 5 stars was Misery’s interaction with little girl and the cat. That and the twist at the end.

I read Gothikana as one of my first dark romance books and I think that’s why I liked it so much. If I read now for the first time, after all the books I’ve read since, I probably wouldn’t like it as much.
