That Iron Knuckle encounter was my favourite of the Zelda Ideas that was considered. There was that incredible poster that he did for it as well which perfectly showed how Lego Zelda would work. The fact that the same person got to work on the actual first Zelda set is really nice to see. I hope he can continue with this theme. I need a Ganondorf minifigure!

I think both OoT Links are absolutely perfect, the BotW one is also fantastic though could be even better with arm printing (I don’t think he needs it on both arms because honestly that sleeve pattern he has is so subtle, but it would have been really nice to get that wrist guard he has on his right arm). I think Zelda could be improved though, she doesn’t need arm printing but some more detailed boot printing could have been really nice (though I can kind of understand them leaving her legs more plain to be more consistent with Link’s which are more simple). I think Zelda’s torso is fine, but printed negative space and maybe some darker outline around the gold pieces would have definitely made it a lot better. Her hair piece and face are incredible though (and honestly I think that goes for every figure in this set), and I’m really excited to see if she has an alternate expression-I’d love a more sad expression to represent her struggling to unlock her powers or realizing the calamity is happening, an angrier face to show her using her powers to hold back Ganon, or even her big smile from the end of the game.

This looks amazing! I probably won't be able to pick it up, just because of the price, but the attention to detail is just spectacular. Hoping that when/if they do more, there could be some less expensive ones made. Although I'd also love an 18+ of Breath of the Wild's Hyrule Castle.

This is a WONDERFUL set! However, I’m really sad that me and many more Zelda and Lego fans will be priced out. There’s no way I could afford this set, my best chance would just be Lego making a series of Lego Zelda sets. I really hope we get a Lego Zelda series! Some twilight princess sets would be an immediate buy for me… as long as it isn’t 300 dollars haha And yeah I’m guessing that the set is extremely expensive due to the new molds, but this means that they’ll have them to work with for a Zelda series of sets!

Which seems a little random for an LoZ set, and you might be tempted to suspect mistranslation or awkward translation (especially with the extra step of transcribing from the Hylian characters), but on the other hand, it reminds me of a printed tile I got in a little fantasy wizard polybag some years ago that said, in English, "You are far more powerfull [sic] than you would ever imagine..." It seems LEGO has an intermittent habit of putting little inspiring messages in their sets.

Really have high hopes for a Majora’s Mask set(s), the Fierce Diety can reuse oot link’s hair mold and recolor it. Molds for the other masks would be crazy.

I really wanted barad'dur but I'll definitely get the deku tree instead.

A few things I want to touch on: - I think OoT Adult Link having that color for his eyebrows is fine. Still not a huge fan of the face overall, but there are plenty of other options out there. - I would also argue that the Hylian Shield NEEDED to be a new mold, since the top is such a unique shape that using the existing shield piece would have compromised on the pattern. - As far as the Master Sword goes, while I'm not sure how they do things internally, I don't see why they couldn't have made the gem molded the same color as the handle and then done gold printing on it. Maybe that would have been too expensive, but it would have been nice. (Maybe it'll be time to pull out a gold Sharpie...) - I'd also say that the ocarina mold is really nice to get. I mean, the game IS called OCARINA of Time, so omitting it would have been a bit sad, especially since it's so crucial to that game. They could also recolor it in something like nougat for Saria's Ocarina and then probably use that one in some future Animal Crossing sets or something. - I LOVE that there are going to be extra fairy pieces outside of Navi, as it means you can make Tatl and Tael from Majora's Mask. Here's hoping we get a Clock Tower and Skull Kid in the future. - I'm with you on the Skyward Sword wish, but for Zelda instead of Link. Still can't decide between white or pink dress though. - I LOVE that Link's House was included in this set. I almost wish it was its own separate set, maybe with something else as a $10-15 set, but it's pretty cool still. As far as the price, I think that this set really is worth it. It's the first in a new licensed theme, it's a HUGE IP from Nintendo, it's a 2-1 model, there are 4 minifigures with new prints and new pieces (including new dual molded pieces), a LOT of new prints and molds, there's honestly just SO much in this set that even though I was hesitant at first, I've come around to realizing that this is 100% worth the money if you're a Zelda fan. Hell, I'm not even a major Zelda fan and I STILL want this set. It's definetly not for everyone, and I REALLY hope we end up getting some cheap sets from this theme (hopefully OoT/MM and Skyward), but as a showcase of what's possible, this was really the best way to kick things off.

I do hope they make several sets from the Legend of Zelda, not just to get more iconic places and characters, but also more affordable prices for kids and adults with less money to spend on their hobbies. I absolutely would love a Wind Waker set with the boat, the dragon and Ganondorf of course. Not to mention more BotW/TotK sets, can you imagine a Zelda and Ganondorf dragon set???????? Make that a UCS set STAT!

I suspect that the road from concept to realization was unusually long and difficult here, involving heavy negotiations with Nintendo to make sure everything was up to their standards visually, and that is also contributing to the high price. And I suppose there could be an element of TLG going "These gamer nerds will pay whatever we ask for whatever crumbs we throw," but that seems out of character for what is usually a very trustworthy company. The minifigures and unique pieces are going to be in *high* demand on BL, so let's brace ourselves for more high prices to come!

It's a must have for me, but 1 nit pick, they could have easily given the koroks their ears but they didn't. That was a misstep IMO.

When I heard the rumours about this set, I was already hurting from knowing I would pay up to £200, especially as I'm someone who doesn't generally buy Lego but adores Zelda. I'm totally priced out with this £260 price tag, it's way too much On top of that, when it was announced the design of the OoT Deku Tree bothered me and I couldn't figure out why until just now, he's missing the roots that make up his iconic silhouette. They could have been scaled down, but I think he needed at one small one on each side. I mocked it up in paint and immediately looks more appealing! At the end of the day this set is just too expensive. I think what I'm going to do for now is bricklink the minifigs and some of the printed pieces and accessories as long as they're not TOO in demand, and then maybe buy the pieces for Link's house, the Master Sword pedestal or some other MOC to display instead. If I can get myself a Master Sword, I'll definitely be adding a little paint to the gem, I think what they did is great, and I'm happy to modify it myself to make it the way I want. Anyway, hopefully there will be smaller sets at a good price after this!

I honestly think a full Zelda theme is inevitable. The real question is how they handle it. Some sets from multiple games? Or do they go all in on the most recent game and do a TOTK wave? As adult Link was a late addition to this set, I wonder if they don't really have plans for "classic" sets. They might just be focused on the newer games which have sold millions more copies than the older games. Maybe the playsets wave will be focused on TOTK for a younger audience and each year we will get a D2C based on a classic game for the adult audience. I think that could work for me. I would love to see you break down what you would do if you were LEGO. What would the first wave of Zelda theme look like?
