I believe part of being a serial killer is wanting to get caught. Lots of them have said they ended up wanting caught. It's probably like a specific notch in their belt. I believe they also like feeling like they're smarter than the police when they are interrogated, to the point lots of them have slipped up and dry snitched on themselves.

What was even dumber with Dennis Rader, is that he called/contacted the police and asked if they could trace a floppy disc. The police, of course, said no. Then he sent that floppy to the paper. 👇👇 (I recently watched a pretty good video about BTK, and would like to share. Would this be okay, Evaluator? another one would be the Golden State Killer who willingly gave up his dna to a 23 and me type organization who then linked his dna to a ton of hits and they sent it to the feds. GG dude lol.

That's not how it happened. They compared DNA from the scene to DNA in GEDMatch which turned up people related to him. With that and some cross referencing of other records, they homed in on him. In other words, he never gave his dna to the organizations. It was matched indirectly through distant relatives.
