It's very true. To master something, you need to put around 10K+hrs in anything. This depends on your creativity and how fast you can learn. But pretty much same for everyone. I am 12 and i am in the game industry for 2 years (i mean i know majority of the things there are about game dev). At first i advise anyone to start with unity and become an average then if u want switch to unreal. AND DONOT FALL INTO THE TUTORIAL DIPLOMA bcz if u do u will start following the tutorials and do nothing of your own. Only watch tutorials in the start so you can get hang of everything. Keep paticence

Haa sir, You are absolutely right, patience bahaut zaroori hai, Mai kabhi bhi koi game banata hoon toh bahaut tak kuchh bugs me fass jaata hoon, kabhi kabaar hafte ho jaate hai, and samajh nahi aata ki baaki sab kucchh hogaya par ye ek cheez kaam kyo nahi karti. But then try karte karte sabkuchh fix ho jaataa hai, Aisaa shuruaat me bahau hota hai aur bhi alag tarah ki problems ati rahti hai. Aur ha best kahaa ki pahle chota banao, complete karo, then bada banaaor: chote project jaroor pure hote hai. THanks and yeah, really good video.

Hi Nikhil, great great to see someone sharing his experience and providing mentor-ship in this domain which was not that much touched before. I have couple of questions from you: 1) I have working hands-on knowledge in javascript and some basic knowledge of Java . Which language is required to get into game development? Is it possible to transition into game development with either these 2? Is Unity a different language? 2) Is it really necessary to know 2D, 3D animation or graphic designing or just coding language knowledge is enough? Because if this is required, then it would be a long course to make a transition into game development. Thanks bro.

Java is good, but unity doesn't use it now. Try learning C#. Actually, you can directly learn the programming language from Unity's website, if you are already a programmer And yes, art is important, but doesn't mean that you have to be good in painting or drawing. You can still be a good game artist and still suck at drawing and painting

U need C# and maybe little animation knowledge, but you dont really need art, depends on the game. If it requires you to convey a story you might need art. Or you can just use stock assets from Asset Store normally

I see.. If you are in 7th ... Then u may get more free time than 11th graders like me... So I would recommend to build your basics first... Before starting with any game engine... 1- Learn to code in C# and Lua (these both languages are most in demand for game dev/programming) 2- Learn Photoshop skills and Pixel art skills 3- After knowing much about the previous 2 points... Start with unity game engine... But ya... You have got much time...So Don't worry... Be patient... And hope for the best 👍💯
