You called me? Once upon a time, monsters and humans lived together in peace until humans waged war. The humans knew that a monster with a human soul is extremely powerful, so they feared that. The humans won, as their souls are more powerful than a monster soul. The monsters were forced to live underground, being blocked by a magic barrier that only a human soul could cross. Years later, a child by the name of “Chara” falls into the Underground. They’re greeted by Asriel, the king’s son. The king and queen take Chara in as their own. Chara falls ill, and they tell Asriel to absorb their soul and let Chara see the flowers from their village one last time. Asriel agrees, absorbs Chara’s soul, and leaves the Underground. As Asriel lay Chara’s body on the flowers, the humans notice. They assume Asriel killed Chara, so they attack him. Asriel, bleeding out, retreats back to the Underground. He dies, and his dust scatters across the flowers in the Throne Room. After this, Asgore (the king) vows to kill any human that comes into the Underground. Toriel is disgusted with his actions and leaves Asgore and retreats to the Ruins.
