I never did this, I always liked the surprise and I've heard getting to Christmas feels slower when you know what you are getting

I can say with the upmost confidence I have never peeked, nor wanted to peek, at my Christmas presents. I understand how fun it can be to see someones genuine reaction to something, and I don’t want to ruin that for my mom. Plus I love the suspense of Christmas.

Yeah, never done this. Partly because I like the mystery, but also because I’m too dumb to know what people are getting me and too clumsy to be sneaky. Perfect example: this year, my sister and her boyfriend came down from North Carolina. Now, her boyfriend is just a taller version of me so he already knew I’d be into retro games and stuff. But when he was asking me what used game stores were in our area, I didn’t connect the dots, so I was actually super surprised when I opened up both the English and Japanese copies of FFVIII we were looking at in one of the stores. He just got both because he thought it would be funny to have both, and even if I can’t play the Japanese one I could at least display it.

3 WEEKS BEFORE?? Id consider that torture to just let them sit there and make me wait Edit: I go to England and the way my family does it is everyone brings all the gifts to the house I’m staying at the morning of Christmas and we just open presents, we don’t let them sit under the tree begging to be opened

I never peaked into the gifts, not knowing what you will get is one of the best parts.

I have to wait until my whole family gets up then we open presents plus I just think it’s better to wait-

i actually COULD NEVER do this. my parents always hide/hid me and my brothers presents. I actually never knew where they were hidden. I DO know some presents are hidden at my grandparents house.

Opening presents before Christmas Day is the most heinous thing anyone can do.

In my country we open presents after dinner when its afternoon. In my family tho we get to choose one to open in the morning. It cant be one from our parents tho.

I never tried to find what my parents got me for Christmas. I just find it that if you wait until Christmas, it is way better to see what you get. and plus Christmas is so close now!

My parents checked the gifts daily. I learned to shake the gifts and guess. This Christmas according to what my parents had told me, do not shake this box. I guessed a switch. It was a switch. Two more and they were clothes. If i was to open a present or so much as tear a little peace off, my parents would have made my ass raw. I love them for that cause it kinda taught me patients.

Bad ending You open it up only to find a note saying I'm disappointed in you and you now need to wait until your birthday for this present Then you turn around looking at your mother whilst she's holding a slipper

Yep thats me everytime is christmas day and when i wake up i always rush to the living room to see santa left gifts under the tree and i always wake up my family when the gifts are here with happines

One year my mom got me a ps3. I unwrapped it and played it and then wrapped it back up. My family jokes about it every year.

Good thing my parents hide my presents somewhere else until Christmas Day they put it under the tree.

I remember when me and my sis would always go in the basement and look at all our gifts. One time she told her friend though and the friend told her dad, wich told our dad. My sister got in big trouble. But to this day, me and her still have to wait an hour to go downstairs just bc we have to wait for my mom to get ready. We always jump up and down also to get my parents to wake up. (We have to wait for our parents to come upstairs and get us and then we can go downstairs)

Now that I’m a parent, I wrap everything Christmas Eve night. It’s hell trying to do them all done in one sitting. But it’s so worth it, being able to see my son’s amazement every year.
