I totally thought the "here's where the setup menu…" text was actually part of the video - an Apple joke in the vein of "there's no step 3" until about halfway through. It's early and I need more coffee!

I don’t understand why Apple stopped doing this. It was part of what made owning a Mac feel like a special, next level experience.

One thing. Leopard and Snow Leopard were slightly different. The video was run slightly slower on Leopard so you got the star warp during the warp sound. You would get the video portion at 8:27 with the sound from 8:30

If I bought a new computer and my first impression was Sofa Rockers or Eple... I would be instantly hooked. Apple technicians had good taste.

There was an earlier variant of the Mac OS X 10.0-10.2 intro which still had the "We'll get you up and running in no time" text. It was probably ditched in at least 10.1 and later since that text was baked into the video as English, it wouldn't have made sense to include it since the rest of the intro video is multilingual.

For the record, Mac OS 8.0 to 8.5 *NEVER* had a welcome video or even a full-screen setup assistant experience, the supposed OS 8 'welcome video' shown in this video is actually a retail demo loop used to show off Mac OS 8 to customers in retail stores at the time instead, explaining it's length, format and the 'Click to Enter' text. As for OS 8.6, that had some actual per-machine welcome videos for the PowerMac G4 and iMac DV models that shipped with it in late 1999, which are identical to the OS 9 welcome videos for those models shown in this video (as is the full-screen setup assistant experience on those models on their 8.6 installs too, which is also the same as on their device-specific OS 9 installs/restore disks).

While I love all of these, I wish that the 10.0 through 10.2 intro was remade for modern versions of MacOS. It just feels like it would fit super well with the modern versions.

When Steve retuned, the Mac Os have got an intros. When Steve died, they've put away then. This man knew what the real style is. P.S Anyway, even 14 years old Snow Leopard looks better than Windows 11. Also, the new Mac OS verions are cool, but back than in 2000s and earlier, the Apple Computer was much unique company, I guess.

One interesting thing i found out, is at least with the Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5 intros, the intro video and the music are actually separate files (And after having extracted the 10.4 and 10.5 intro videos, so that i have a private copy of them (i have a Mac Mini set up with both 10.4 and 10.5 installed on it), im tempted to hunt down as many of them as i can (preferably extracting them from discs or image files))

I personally have a iBook G4 14 inch model with Tiger on it. And I loved the intro for it! What I am trying to do is upgrade it to Leopard to get a better UI as well as better app compatibility. The Leopard was the last first boot animation that apple released with their consumer systems. But still, I have a soft spot for the classic computer systems. The modern systems can try and emulate the older computers, but nothing will beat the actual thing. Sure they are sluggish compared to today's standards, but the older systems have their unique charm to them. Edit: Leopard's intro has always been my personal favorite too.

I also was just digging around on KZfaq and found the guy who created/designed at least one of these videos, he goes by the name of Dave Brinda. Further research shows he made numerous other Apple motion graphics, but most notably the 10.0-10.2 welcome videos, and possibly more. I wonder who created the other ones -- like the Mac OS 8 one. I wanna know what music that is lol

I received an iMac G6 recently on Yosemite, and I felt it was only right to put it back to Leopard. I struggled for a while and almost made this computer unusable, and when I finally got it to boot onto Leopard, I was so relieved and stunned to see the intro. This video brought back good memories (from last week lol).
