The ranking is not what really matters for their discography is insane (not many bad songs), and there are +100 songs they've made that are going from really good to legendary. I'm Ok with song even from the 5 first legendary albums being ranked underneath some more modern albums. It's just a matter of personal preferences. The issue on this list is the numbers of people who likes those songs: Any good Metallica song should have been at least liked over 100 million times on Spotify. Only 22 of their songs (if you include the 2 covers "Whiskey in the Jar" and "Turn the Page", overwise it's only 20 songs) have reached this popularity so far, with perhaps "The 4 Horsemen" which should reach that threshold within a couple of days... It's up to us, Metallica fans to make sure younger generations that have no interest in records and that just picks whatever song they wish to listen to on their streaming service gets to know about all the songs that are way behind that +100 million likes...

You forgot their "Ecstasy of Gold" cover they did on the "We All love Ennio Morricone" tribute album in 2007 They Also did "You Really got Me" on the "Ray Davis: See My Friends" in 2010. They also recorded a single during the Covid Lockdowns in 2020: "Blackened 2020" which is an unplugged recording of the "Blackened" song from AJFA There's also the "For Whom the Bell Tolls: The Irony of it All" which is a collaboration they had with DJ Spooky in 1997 on the Spawn movie Soundtrack. They also made a collaborative track with the rap musician Swizz Beat and Ja Rules as a singer called "We did it Again" in 2002 on a compilation named "Swizz Beats Presents G.H.E.T.T.O Stories". All those previous tracks can be found on Spotify. The only tracks Metallica recorded in studio and that aren't on Spotify are the Ramones cover songs they did around 2003 (6 songs in total: "53rd & 3rd", "Commando", "Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World", "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue"; "Cretin Hop" & "We're a Happy Family") as well as the unplugged cover of the Alice in Chains song "Would?" they released in 2020 at the same time as "Blackened 2020" during the Covid lockdowns.

Some General inferences from this: Most songs that I felt "should" be higher, are mostly album closers or near the end of long albums. So most casual listeners are not likely to go there first. Also title tracks are generally higher than most songs. Older singles with videos are also higher than songs from the same album that don't have videos. Lastly of course, the more "radio-friendly"songs will always be more streamed.
