Great list. Appreciate the acknowledgement of THE JERICHO MILE and the L.A. TAKEDOWN love, haha. I like ALI way more than you do, but other than that my list is basically identical

Also I watched Thief after watching this, excellent movie. I also watched Miami Vice (2006), super underrated.

I literally can't get enough of Manhunter. That is the way the Lecktor should have been ;) And William Peterson is just so good in this.

Good list! Heat is my favorite movie of all time. It would be great if they re-release it in the theaters for its 30th anniversary that’s coming up.

MANHUNTER is 7th on your list? OMG. It's the purest neo-noir I can think of. It's masterful and based on Thomas Harris's brilliant book.

Mann has so many good movies that something had to be 7th. I would have liked to put it higher but I love the other 6 more.

I am also not a fan of the Last of the Mohicans, its consistently ranked in the top 10 of movies, but i also thought the movie was extremely bland.

You lost all credibility when you could not find anything good to say about Last Of The Mohicans. Great performances of a classic story with a solid script, gorgeous cinematography, deft pacing and a superb soundtrack. Daniel Day Lewis’ Hawkeye vs. Wes Studi’s Magua is every bit as captivating as DeNiro vs Pacino in Heat.

11:16 No, even after the last rewatch, its still anticlimactic creep. A Mashup of the serial material, and even not the One which i would rather watch. For a example a cinematic version of "Golden Triangle" or the "Prodigal Son" or a something out of "Sons and Lovers", i mean maybe a continuation. Another big criticism which i have about the moviei is, thats not "Miami Vice" the Movie but "Crockett and Tubs" as Title would be more a suitable. The Series always was about the whole squad, and i liked them All. In the movie, i think only Trudy was good, an the other characters hadn´t near the charme and chemistry from the series. The Most Dissapointment i had which the Movie Castillo, for obvious reasons.

Mohicans at #11 LOL what a joke. We know why he has 19 subscribers. Hawkeye played by Daniel Day Lewis is a boring character? I'm not even sure you watched these. I'm done.

Mohicans won an Oscar and you've got the Jericho fuckin Mile, a TV movie, ranked above it? Why even do the list?

@@Es_Film_Talk EMMYS lol. A TV award. You're doing a Best Movies list, bud. How many awards did LA Takedown win, which you have even higher up and is basically a pilot. List is lame and you know it, hence all your justifications around sandbagging Mohicans. It's an ice cold, inaccurate take.

Are you ok man? I get this is KZfaq and there is always gonna be hate comments, but you seem to be getting very upset over nothing. Film is a subjective art form. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, there is no right or wrong way to think of a film. If you disagree with me over Mohicans that’s fine, but you should try not to get so offended and angry over something that doesn’t matter. I hope all the best for you man.

My mega film buff father always thought Heat was overly stylized. I didn’t have a problem with it. I stumbled across it on cable around 2004, and it struck me as an instant classic. OK, I could had had the guys tone down the coffee shop scene just a hair, as them acting all over themselves and each other is just a biiit too visible, but everything else in it held up brilliantly through approximately a zillion subsequent viewings. Jericho Mile also made an impression on me that has persisted through the years. It is fairly linear and straightforward, but effectively conveys a certain passion and longing.
