Shaq averaged 36 and 16 in 2000 Finals. 😮 Once they got Phil Jackson and he locked in, he played his absolute best basketball on the biggest possible stage. For three straight years.

@kevinmurtagh4996
@kevinmurtagh4996 3 күн бұрын
@@Ari3558 Absolutely. I would argue it was the best. There are others who had better raw stats for a season (Wilt averaged 50, MJ won MVP and DPOY, etc.). But Shaq had all-time statistical dominance, AND won all three MVP awards, AND won it all in dominant fashion. I think he definitely had the greatest Finals series ever that year. MJ in ‘93 is up there. But 36 and 16 boards to win it all?? That’s crazy.

I’m not saying that the old heads aren’t superior athletes, but give me a break if you think they could compete with modern players. They look so awkward and clunky with their mechanics in A LOT of these clips. Players have just evolved athletically so much.

Maybe because officiating was really strict with travels, carrying and offensive fouls. Every new decade players have been allowed to get away with this more and more. You would be shocked how many today's great players looked if the officiating was that strict.
