I would say they’d be different forms like primordial forms rather than just ancient ones. Since they’re capable of reincarnation and bringing life. So their primordial origin might have been more powerful and different

The Kalos Starters definitely deserve Mega Evolutions. Chesnaught (Grass/Rock), Delphox (Fire/Fairy), Greninja (Water/Poison). Secondary types references their Tera Type from the 7 Star Tera Raid events in Scarlet and Violet

I agree on the mega being needed part, and it would be pretty cool to hint at them with the seven star raid, but do any of them really need new secondary types. The ones they have already do kind of work. Also those three would kind of throw off the balance That Trio has

I remember seeing online that a cry for Mega Jynx was leaked a few years ago so I could see Jynx getting something. Also if Dragonite doesn't get a mega I would like to see him get a regional variant that is closer in design and colour as it's pre evolutions.

There are a few that I think are prime candidates that were not on this list. Sigilyph, Cofagrigus, and Espathra. These three have HUGE ties to Egyptian lore, which France has some major, uh, complicated history with Egypt that makes it, at least to me, very likely that they could get Megas, especially if we are in the past, near the time of Napoleon.

I don't think the games will be set in the past... since that is especially problematic for Mons that are in the XY dex, but don't have a Mega in that game, since you cannot explain why they don't have it anymore in XY itself. Another thing is that Zygarde seems to be the main focus of the game and you cannot delve in its forms either in a past setting, due to the Zygarde Cubes being recent discoveries as we have learned from Sina and Dexio in the Alola games.

If they give Flygon a Mega, I would love it to get the importance that Mega Lucario did. Lucario was THE Mega Evolution. Given how we've waited all this time for Flygon, having it be THE Mega of Z-A would fit.

I think Mega Jynx gets released within Pokemon Legends Z-A. Mega Jynx was cut deep within the development of X and Y and her Mega cry was found in the code of Pokémon Home.

I’ve always been of the camp that Dragonite should get a regional form that looks more akin to Dragonair and maybe has the dragon/fairy type. I LOVE my dorky little dragon friend, but some part of me yearns for a “Quetzalcoatl” inspired winged-snake dragon.

I would love to see the Fossil Pokémon get more Megas. All we got last time was Aerodactyl. It would be great seeing Cradily or even the Kalos fossils get Megas. Though they can skip the Galar fossils.

Some possibilities: 1. Pure kalos starters and at a certain point, we get access to the megas. 2. The “legends” starters don’t get new regional forms. Instead the those starters get megas. 3. They indeed do pull an x and y. Legends starters are our main starters and those get the regional evos. Then somewat later, we get our second set which would be the actual kalos starters along with the associated mega stone. We get the mega bracelets later in the story.

I also believe (wishful thinking) that the original Kalos starters are the starters that have the best chance of receiving a mega, or at least I feel that that would be correct considering how in X&Y the Kanto starters got all the attention.

Yeah I find it strangely ironic that mega evolution, a mechanic that was introduced in gen 6, can't be used with any Pokemon from gen 6 except Diance That's like so stupid. Like they gave some alola Pokemon their own Z Moves, and some Galar Pokemon got their own gmax forms. Why could they not do the same for mega evolution with Kalos Pokemon?!

I really want to see more of the counterpart Pokemon get Megas (Slowking, Froslass, and Butterfree come to mind). Hoping to see Mega Malamar as far as gen 6 mons go! 😂 Also, about the regional ones you mentioned, would love to see if Slowbronite works on the Galarian variation.

I agree with Slowking and Froslass, as they are not even counterparts (Counterparts tend to change anyways, the only constant ones so far have been Magmar and Electabuzz and the Nido's), but evolutionary relatives (Especially since both Gardevoir and Gallade got something). Butterfree imo, doesn't need anything, since it has the Gigantamax Factor. But even then, if it gets something and we talk counterparts. Gyarados > Milotic (Water/Fairy) Alakazam and Gengar > Machamp and Golem Aerodactyl > Omastar and Kabutops However, i do feel like more Gen 5 mons should get Mega's.

I hope that a lot of Unova Pokémon get Megas. My main hope is Hydreigon, my favorite Pokémon. I would also like to see Mega Volcarona, Gigalith, Excadrill, Sigilyph, and Haxorus. Other Non-Unova Pokémon that I would love to see get Megas include Flygon (of course), Dragonite, Crobat, Yanmega, Magnezone, Dusknoir, Magmortar, Electivire, Rhyperior, Trevenant, Avalugg, etc.

I think an interesting candidate for a new Mega Evolution would be Galarian Slowbro. The OG Slowbro recieved a really goofy Mega back in Gen 6, so it’d be cool to see the Galar variant recieve a Mega as well. The ‘Shellder’ grows in size, and becomes a massive arm cannon, restricting Slowbro’s movements. Cutting its speed to exponentially buff both its offences and its defences.

I just had a thought. What if the Tera Types for the Kanto Starters in the raid event going on right now are hinting at new Mega Evolutions for them. Maybe a new Mega Blastoise will be Water/Steel Type and a new Mega Venusaur will be Grass/Ground Type

I think that the ORAS legendaries will be available since they have megas. Since Kyogre and Groudon have "origin forms", maybe Xerneas and Yveltal get Origin Forms while Zygard gets a Mega like Rayquaza? Id also like a deoxsis and magernea mega.

I think expanding the battle bond function that froakie has instead of mega evolution, or along side mega evolution, would mean greninja could still mega evolve this way. While introducing battle bond forms for the other Kalos starters

Hey Hoops, have you ever considered that, if pokemon legends z-a is set in the past we could be in the middle of o big event, a war or something of the sort and a bunch of mega stones were lost, thus giving gamefreak the chance to give megas to normal kalos pokemon? We’re already working with the LARGEST Regional Dex to date with XY Base. (400~420) We * might * get to see some post Gen 6 mon/evos/variants in Z-A, but we don’t know. That’s a MINIMUM of 400~ Pokémon in the city (+ Catacombs? Sky, Canals, Parks, and maybe even small areas of greenery OUTSIDE the city limits) within a city the size of about 40 square miles~. It’s massive, the story will have at minimum 5 main Bosses, with the final Box Art Boss fight as well. (5 Plazas = 5 Regionals/Mega Bosses; Lumiose Tower = Boss, Catacombs = Boss?, Sky Boss???) Plus Post-Game content *[Since Legends: Arceus used the Base Sinnoh Dex +Platinum Families & added more to that Dex]* *BDSP “Sinnoh Dex” = 151~* *L:A Hisui Dex = 242* *XY Kalos Dex = 457* *L:Z-A “Lumiose Dex” = ???*

Strongly disagree about Kalos Box legendaries receiving mega forms, the Origin forms of Sinnoh box legendaries aren't mega forms, nor are the primal forms of Hoenn box legendaries. They were added for lore reasons, you can't just give any legendary a new form. Sure, Rayquaza has a mega form, but that's also for lore reasons. Notice how none of the Legendary birds, legendary beasts, or Johto Box legendaries received mega forms, and notice how neither the Unova nor Kalos regions had their box legendaries gain mega forms. I mean... Unova did have the combination with Kyurem, but that's not the same thing. Hard veto on anything getting a 3rd mega form.

I think that you’ll get a legends Arceus type starter trio, AND, in the wild be able to find the Kalos starter where in some cave or in a side quest, you’ll be able to get their mega stone. Because giving is 2 starters was already proven by XY to make the game WAYYYY to easy

What I would really want is a Convergent species of The Charmander line, specifically a water type line. Maybe call it Soakmander. Where its a slimy water type salamander pokemon that shares similar physical traits as the Charmander line. The name for all 3 lines could be Soakmander, Soakmeleon, and Soakizard. What you think?

I'd love to see a mega or RV for nidoking and Nidoqueen. I love kidoking but it need a Lil buff to hang with newer pokemon

I really hope we get new megas including ones for all the Kalos starters and the return of all megas featured in X and Y and maybe some from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

If kinda like to see some form of gmax appletun/flapple situation with the regional forms where they have the same/similar designs the main difference being the type change based on the base form. Don't know how it would work and I know it's a long reach (pun intended), but a guy can dream. I was an appletun user, after all, and i kinda liked the concept of a shared powered up form.

I love Greninja! It’s my no.1 favourite Pokémon ever! And though it may not be possible for it to return to games as a ‘legend mega’ form, I hope that Ash-Greninja would make a comeback. It needs more recognition after it was nerfed in Sun and Moon, and later discarded in the Pokémon Journeys anime.

Dragonite is fine as is, although a new form or Mega Evolution is highly requested, it doesn't really need it as it is very good in every way, and is more powerful than many Mega Evolutions. And paradox pokemon, and convergent pokemons, are not forms, they are totally different species.
