Tony Stark may be a genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist and, you know, Iron Man, but he’s also the king of sarcastic quips and nicknames. Tony is one of the wittiest characters in the entire MCU so if he could come up with some funny way to insult you, then you know that’s exactly what he’s going to do. Tony Stark has given out over 50 nicknames throughout the years and most of these are insults, but you do you Mr. Stark. It’s crazy how he has nicknames for all the Avengers and even people he’s met one time!
James Rhodes is one of Tony Stark’s best friends, but after being called “honey bear,” “platypus” and “sour patch,” he might have to rethink his life choices. Thor has gone by “Shakespeare in the Park” and “Point Break,” which are both quite clever. Black Widow has been called a “triple imposter” while her best bud Hawkeye was dubbed “Legolas,” a Lord of the Rings reference we could all get behind. Hulk has been sarcastically called “Jolly Green” by Iron Man, but the best nickname of them all has to be when Tony referred to Steve Rogers’ time frozen in ice as him being a “Capsicle.” You’ve got to love a good portmanteau.
