There are LITERALLY SO MANY blades and comb attachments you can choose to give a dog a haircut. So I came up with 6 bulk categories to simplify your choices. And I added PICTURES so you can see what the haircut lengths look like.

I have been a mobile groomer for 18years. I have been trying to hire an associate with no luck for 5years. I have decided to train two employees with zero grooming experience. This will be really helpful when I take my little guy in for a groom (when I can’t deal with his crazy) since he is not double coated and I leave him longer in the winter but shorter in the summer.

Good video! I'm lucky in that my border collies only need to have their legs trimmed. But they do get LOTS of brushing/combing. Thanks for this great explanation video!

@@GoodDogGrooming That's a really great video!!! I saved it for future reference. Thanks for suggesting it! Beautiful blue merle Aussie. My BC is a red merle. My rough coated collie mix is a tri. What Oster human blade does a "5" correspond to? I use the oster to trim my beard. Although I'm a little apprehensive about using clippers on my dogs. Neither one likes to have their paws handled. I usually trim with 3" shears. That back brushing is a neat trick. THANKS!!

This is my new “go-to” video for trim variances. Thanks for creating it; there’s a lot of detail. Although I’ve gotten away from the periodic clippings and transitioned to weekly scissor// thinning shear maintenance. It’s a more positive experience in my situation as well. Quiet, short clipping sessions without the negatives. All the hold still-no-commands pretty much disappeared. Not risking and or getting nicks helped too. For me it lets my dog’s wire hair natural coat look normal year round. I’m going off to see if you’ve got a thinning shear scissor video. Keep up the great work!😊

Sorry, not much instruction here about scissor work in general. I actually consider myself a very average groomer in some senses… But my attention to detail and ability to explain things (like nail trimming) more clearly are what make the KZfaq channel work. Thanks for checking out my channel!

I'm trying to learn to cut my cockers. I have not done any cuts yet (still studying). This was very helpful, but isn't your chart for the non-adjustable blades which apparently use a different numbering system? I have a Bravura with a 5in1 blade. Is there a chart for these blades and the Wahl combs? Thank you very much.
