It'd honestly felt like this in my beginner coding classes. We went from x=1 to build us a node based priority queue using heap sort to print out the 100th smallest number in a random generator that prints out 1000000 integers. You cannot use a linked list and u must include swim and sink function. I cried that night

When I took java in college, every single lesson, the professor would basically go over whatever the topic was for the day then said "If you can do this, you can make Minecraft"

I’m so glad I watched this tutorial. It changed my life. Before, I was a novice programmer who struggled with basic concepts. Now, I’m a master coder who can create anything I want. All thanks to Jombo and his giant chunk of code.

I found some very clearly and usefull programming tutorials. But I found also some like on video: Lessons 1-5: "How to create folders containing new web page in WordPress" Lesson 6: "To not waste 20 h for learning basics in HTML, next 20 h for basics in CSS, and next 20 h for basics in PHP, we just copy source code and paste in created folders" Lesson 7: "Voila! You've just learned how to become WordPress developer!"

I swear my Programming II course at my university was a weed out class. Literally the second week which was supposed to be finishing up a quick review of Programming I we had to code a completely functioning poker game. For context Programming I cut off right before we started learning basic recursion.

I remember it like: "...so that's how you print output to the console, don't worry if you find string formatting intimidating at first, now about that nural network web API..."

you started too quickly. You need to talk about personal things, previous videos and the reason why you would want to learn this programming language for about 10 minutes first while hiding some very crucial fact somewhere in the middle of those 10 minutes and then refer to this fact like 20 times later in the video.

When I started Computer Science at uni, I thought watching KZfaq tutorials on how to code was the best way to learn, It took several months, but I realised after no progress, that it was the absolutely worst way to learn. For me, thinking of an app I actually WANT to make is the key, e.g. a Weather App for Android. First Google how to start an Android app, then how to add a button, then how to do this, do that etc. Then learn about API's, and you can refactor your own code and you hit milestones, you gain momentum and confidence and it just pulls you forward

4 years later this is still relevant
