Why did I add Season 4 only?
Because that’s basically the majority of Season 4

I think it's amazing how they just mirrored the reused animation without having it look weird Because seriously, mirroring art is the nightmare of every artist

yeah this happenes in jojo part 6 where star platinum was barrage attacking missing MIH and the animation for the barrage punch was reused from part 3 when he was fighting wheel of fortune

For the first one, I interpret it as Macaque learning from his fight with Monkey King. The first one Wukong clearly has the upper hand, slamming Mihou on the ground. But Mac learned from it and use the exact same tactic in his fight with possessed Wukong to gain the upper hand. Pulling him to the ground and then throwing him away.

I've noticed they really like to reuse this one animation of Pigsy yelling, it's so fun every time it pops up again, and you're like "Hey, they used that one again :D"

Some people may say that its ‘annoying’ or ‘bad’ but I like to think of it as parallels! Also, the animation is amazing either way and when they do re-use animations they always change something about it! (Except for pigsy’s one lol)

All things considered, it doesn't really stand out all that much unless you're paying close attention, so they get a pass.

I love how well they did, and seeing these moments reused is just so awesome when you see how well they blended it into the moment. Not to mention it gives a sense of stability and habit to the characters' actions.

I don't know what it even is but when the creators re uses a scene from season 3 in season 4. it had me ROLLING. I would point it out like "OH! OH! THATS FROM EPISODE -----" it was wild

I think calling some of these reused isnt accurate, where the similar/mimicked scenes are either just movement and gesture ticks a certain character has established having, a fighting move someone just uses (like Nezha coming down at someone with hos staff), or its an intentional callback to a moment previously scene in general. Though some of these are straight up recycled frames lol. At least they never feel lazy or stick out when you werent meant to notice the repeated motion or gesture.

Honestly Im obsessed with the one of MK crying while ranting. In the shamadi fire, its burnt and tired and just been abandoned by two friends but he still knows what he wants to do from there. Nezha and the others are still able to help him fix things. In season 4 after Azure leaves with Wukong in the scroll, the colour pallet alone makes the scene feel far darker and more hopeless. Everything muted and dim like a cloudy day rather then a transition between inside and outside, day or night. Its just dull. And MK might not be burnt or injured like last time, but he also isnt the one who was abandoned this time. He was the one who abandoned his values he was so upset at being broken last time (friendship and sticking together) and abandons his friends. He doesnt know what to do now. Theres no clear answer and hes broken by it. There is no hope, in the dull lifeless tones the scene is bathed in.

I remember a reused animation where Wukong and Macaque spin MK over their heads. I know the Macaque version is in one of the Season 3 specials, and The Wukong version is in the weather station episode? That or S2E1

Yeah no they’re very different animations but both Wukong and Macaque do indeed spin him around.

Honestly the animation is so good you mostly don’t notice it, and I think it’s very cute reusing the same animations, I don’t know how to put it into words but it just makes it more re-useful and unique, like the characters doing the same thing over again because that’s who they are

if it saves money, good for them!! but it also makes everything feel so completely connected to me. there's one where mei jumps up behind sandy in the dragon palace of the east sea, and then with ao lie in season 4 tang does the same thing to mei. it makes me feel like these characters are absorbing traits and hand motions and phrases from one another and it's SO cool

Honestly, I love that they reused the animation because not only does it save time and money, but it allows them to focus their budget on better scenes. Not only that, but they have made multiple meta-jokes throughout the show about animation and how much it costs to make so reusing the animation just plays into the joke more for me 😂😂😂

Most of these scenes look like tracing over animation since they otherwise have different clothes (when talking about characters other than monkey king/macaque/pigsy)
