Thinking of myself as a media company and leveraging my content and being a voice in my industry changed the game for me and the way I run my Design Studio. I don't compete with other designers, I educate them, inspire them and set standards. Clients see my leadership and communication skills and personality and want to work with me. Now I'm Retweeted by top brands in my field like Adobe and Wacom. Creating value for others demonstrates and scales the value you have. True story.

The cost for content is rarely discussed. The good stuff don't come easy:) The large number of tweets to blogs, vlogs etc... lack authenticity. If YOU say "do this" it's because you've done it and 200 other things. Your history and consistency make your voice valuable. The more available mediums to tell a story, sell, connect have become the less leg work and time on the pavement seems to be required or expected from the new creators. We seem to have more and expect less. Just a thought.

The #internet created the #publish #button which almost immediately diminish the power of media houses everywhere. Authority is redefined by the quality and integrity aka #value of every content. This #disruption leveled the barrier to entry and the playing field. We all now have the power to create and distribute content. #IamaMediaCompany #IdrisBusari #ResQRecords #PiKtureTimeFilms

Inbound marketing baby....what I wonder about is "what is your content?" if you are operating a marketplace and not selling a tangible product? Sure I can print media about the ins and outs of the marketplace, but that isn't gonna interest consumers who are only using it for a connecting service and not to buy a product is it? I think for new collaborative consumption markets it takes a lot of creativity to produce engaging but still relevant content but def a must!

good stuff... problem is, people adopt this thinking and start putting out a lot of content - but mediocre and meh content - and that creates noise. but then again, to put in good quality content, takes time and effort. kinda tough.
