I’d say Dark/Normal. Normal consist of both things that don’t fit in to any type, and things that are more than two types, which perfectly fits both the fool arcana, and the power of the wild card.

Honestly, I'd say he's Dark/Psychic. He's Dark because of 2 reasons: 1. The whole concept of thieves and working in the shadows and being on the dark side of the law. 2. As Thulani Dlamini said, the Persona games have different types/affinities/elements for magic attacks. Arsene specialises in Curse skills and Joker's side special is Eiha/Eigeon which are the spells for light/heavy Curse damage. If that's not enough to convince you, in previous Persona games, the Curse element was called the Dark element. He's Psychic, not because of the concept of stealing hearts, but because of what Personas actually are. Without lore dumping too hard, all Personas start off as a person's Shadow Self - basically all of their insecurities and the things they want to hide from others and by accepting those parts of yourself, your Shadow becomes your Persona. Specifically in Persona 5, Personas are manifestations of a person's will of rebellion (as explained by Morgana) and Igor (basically a mentor figure and helper to Joker) describes them as "an armour of the heart". Personas are also symbolic of their wielder's personality, past and desires. In other words, a Persona is basically a person's mind given physical form, which is probably the most literal form of the Psychic type, other than literal psychics. I do like the idea of Joker being a Ghost or Flying or even a Fire type, but since Pokémon can only have two types and those three types come mainly from Joker and Arsene's designs, I'd say Dark/Psychic fits Joker best. Also I love the idea of him being a Normal type because of his ability to wield multiple Personas, but again, only two types, and Joker doesn't use the power of the Wild Card/The Fool in Smash Bros, (unless you count him teaching Arsene Makarakarn and Tetrakarn, skills Arsene doesn't learn naturally or have an affinity for.)

forreal, none of Terry´s attacks are made of fire. It is his chi. Not a lot of thought was put into some of these typings.

I'd agree with this, since a lot of his moves are drawing on earth ki, sending energy waves along the ground, slamming it to make explosive bursts, ect. It would also make him different from there possibly being a lot of Fire/Fighting and just Fire in general in this concept.

It's debateable, "ki" and other similar energy is usually fighting (lucario for example), but can also be related to nature magics, which is more in line with fairy I think in Terry's case fighting/fire works fine since it covers that the energy he uses isn't exactly natural fighting stuff but keeps the focus on the fighting or "ki" element

@@KrissyBlues except I'm pretty sure the lore specifies that a lot of the ki or energy he channels comes from the earth itself. A lot of the other 'fighting spirit' energy comes from within the fighter, Terry's energy largely comes from the planet itself. Another comment compared Terry's moves to the move Earth Power.

With a game as big as smash, it's pretty much what we have to deal with. you always hear "Palutena from smash," and never "Shulk from Xenoblade."

@@lockdownhamza Mostly because it's associated with so many different concepts, regardless of whether they really fit. Its general association with magic and divinity would give it to Palutena and Mythra, its status as "the Pink type" largely makes it the easiest one to reach for for the various princesses, and Link is often described as a "fairy boy" and Hylians in general have features resembling elves. Lastly there's just the "fairy tale" interpretation which could give it to various other heroes like Sora and... Hero. Given what the Fairy type is generally supposed to be, a lot of these should probably be changed to different types. Unlike them, Pyra and Mythra have a good argument given their status as effectively magical familiars. They don't just _have_ magic; they _are_ magic. If you think Mythra is too brash and aggressive for something like Fairy, then you _really_ don't know what fairies really are. "Nice" is not a word one should use to describe them except as a title to avoid drawing their attention by using their actual name. Yes, fairies were _feared._

if you're restricting her to one type-for paralleling Pyra, Psychic fits best, since she has an ability literally called "foresight" (hope that isn't too spoiler-y) I could settle with arguments for fairy though. For two types, though, I fully agree. electric just didn't fit much at all.

The only electric reference for her is Lightning Buster. Everything else is tied to light. Also giving her Psychic would balance her with Malos since Dark is immune to and strong against Psychic, and weak to and against Fairy. In XC2, the various elements all have two sided weaknesses. There's also her status as the Aegis giving her an image of a traditional angel as a messenger of God/The Architect. Combine those with the more general status of Blades as acting as magical familiars and one could argue that Pyra could be considered Fire/Fairy.

I would say Fighting/Electric makes more sense when we are talking about smash. They aren't using Grima for any of their moves after all There's also the fact that Pokemon with weapons often get classified into fighting type, especially if they are good at using that weapon or object.

I can agree in both honestly I also though Byleth could have fighting +Physic or dragon since his/her powers come from sothis, a godess. (I have only finished crimson flower and I am only at half azure moon)

FE Awakening SPOILERS: Robin is only possessed by the Dark Dragon Grima in the first timeline and of course when that version of him/herself was sent back in time into the second timeline. He/she normally has no connection to it.

Everything is floaty in kingdom hearts, it's just how the games work. His name is almost purely symbolic. And he has a very diverse toolkit to the point the only types you couldn't make an argument for is bug, poison, ground, and rock

@@31-2-5 if anything, this furthers reinforces Sora's flying type, as one of the pillars of KH3's design was to make it so that Sora doesnt need to touch the ground, plus he has some sort of double jump and glide abilities in the games

Meta Knight is all about following the rules of engagement and enforcing them. He wouldn't learn, let alone use a Dark type move to save his life. Why Meta Knight should be of a type he's unable to even use? Especially when there is a Dark Meta Knight who would fit the bill instead of him.

His Dark typing has more to do with his batlike appearance.

good points, definitely agree with the Meta Knight and G&W change. however, I feel like Normal/Flying is fine for Duck Hunt because it’s just a dog and a duck, and K.Rool’s royal status and attire sort of justifies the dragon type for me. Also, I honestly envision Byleth as Fairy/Fighting due to their aesthetic (especially female Byleth with their semi-transparent stockings) and their weapons’ connection to nature and nature magic, plus the houses you can choose in the game being mostly nature themed (I think, I know there’s the deer house but can’t remember the other two)

@@PatheticApathetic I mainly gave it ground to highlight the differences between the two (animals of sky and earth) as well as the wild west aspect of their gunmen. Normal/Flying is almost exclusively used for regular birds in Pokémon, plus I wanted to throw in some type diversity.

Poison/Dark works better I think. The fighting type is generally seen as "honorable" while the Dark type is for "underhanded" tactics like Bite and Sucker Punch. That suits Wario well, doesn't it?

Dark isn’t always shady or dishonorable it could literally just be existing in darkness which Meta Knight does as well, keeping his true form hidden.

Meta Knight should be Flying, while Dark Meta Knight is, well, Dark. (I know DMK isn't in Smash but we should still take him into a count.)

I'd say that Meta Knight should be Flying/Steel. He's known mainly for his ability to fly with those wings, and he's got a sword and a mask that seems to be made of metal.

Enderman I think could’ve been Dark/Psychic. The fighting style of the Enderman in game is kinda Dark-type-like, attempting to attack you from behind, and the Psychic type because teleport’s a Psychic type move. You could argue Fairy as well, since they aren’t malevolent beings, and it also cancels out the dark type to reflect the fact that they’re a neutral mob.

Not really actually since a good amount of cures to diseases are usually poison too (that’s why purify is a poison type attack for exemple) so him being poison type doesn’t mean is a bad doctor, just means he’s using his poison for fighting instead of healing this time

Mythra isn't even Light as in "Light magic." She Light as in "Pure photons." Closer to _Galeem_ than any of the other "light magic" users.

Emboar should have been that pokemon. Being based on Bajie from Journey to the West, the origins of a pig banished to the earth to live out several lifetimes, definitely could be considered connected to the ground. Similar to his struggles with "earthly" vices throughout the story. Fighting works, or dark, but it would have been way more unique to be ground
