as someone who started chess this year and am currently 600 elo, I experienced a game where the opponent had the same checkmate in 1 for 2 turns, he didn't take it, and I checkmated him with rook+queen combo while being fully aware he had mate in 1.

Italian here. We actually have spaghetti and meatballs in Italy but it isn't a very famous dish here. It's a traditional dish in Abruzzo and we call it "Spaghetti con le Pallottine" which means "Spaghetti with little balls" because in the italian version the meatballs are like a third of the size of the american version.
