Even though the Saw traps were intended to have a way out, some of them were completely rigged from the start. In this video we'll look at all the times the Jigsaw killers have created a trap that looked like it offered a way out when in reality it was just intended to get rid of a person.

I do like how Kramer's pupils end up being just quirky serial killers. It shows that putting a person into a mentally scarring and self mutilating trap doesn't make them all right in the head afterwards. Most people experiencing torture become anxious, depressed and self-isolated. Some get PTSD and/or get major depression. It solidifies that Kramer isn't a good guy (as some people who believe the character that he never technically killed anyone, and is actually the good guy). Even in the best case scenario, his pupils just want revenge and any reason to murder anyone they feel like.

While he never rigged them in the same way that Amanda and Hoffman did (straight up executions), he did construct traps that were unable to be won by all players. For example, there is _no_ way for Adam, Gordon, Gordon's family and Zepp to all make it out of the Bathroom Trap alive while following the rules (Adam survives -> Gordon fails and his family dies, Gordon wins -> Adam dies, Zepp doesn't kill anyone -> Zepp dies).

Most of the traps in Saw VI were designed so that, no matter what, someone died, too. And unlike Amanda's cellmate (who, by word of god, was her pusher) many of those people were completely innocent. And while, yeah, Hoffman was the one to set those traps up and put them in motion, we know that, at the very least, William's game was entirely John's design, since John didn't even bother to hide his in the videos for that one. John was perfectly content to have a janitor and either a file clerk or a secretary die for the grave sin of working for the wrong person... just to teach their employer a lesson. At least the six on the carousel and the lawyer were ostensibly as sleazy as William was. I really like Saw VI, but it having John use what are essentially innocent bystanders as pawns in someone else's game never sat right with me.

See I think the funniest thing about the angel trap isn't the fact that it is unbeatable but the fact that Allison's hand immediately starts burning in the acid. There were a few videos on NileRed's channel in which he shows that acid doesn't burn your hand that fast unless it is a very particular type of acid, in which case the key would have been nuked in probably like 5 seconds or at least reduced to an unusable state, in which case there'd be no point putting your hand in the glass and you would just kinda have to accept your fate.

Notice a pattern though? These traps aren't set up by John himself. With the RBT 2.0, I'm fully convinced that John would have wanted it to be possible to escape, but it's implied that Jill was angry with Hoffman for setting up Amanda and John's deaths, so she simply left him to die.

I’ve heard theories that Hoffman was meant to survive his bear trap test The test was to see if he could forgive Jill and not try to seek vengeance nor enforce his twisted justice That’s what Hoffman does, enforce unethical “justice”, and John wanted to test that behavior out of him That’s why Lawrence was meant to watch over Jill, So if he failed and killed Jill in revenge, Hoffman would be punished for failing his test

I think it's a missed opportunity for the series to not make Strahm the main character. Have him survive more traps and give the audience a consistent character to stick with, and give Hoffman more headaches. Let's just say Hoffman did succeed in convincing the police that Strahm was the killer. Strahm survived but now nobody believes him and he became this vigilante foiling Hoffman's traps and uncovering the truth as a vigilante character. But nope each movie try to one up the twist endings and we got a mess of a franchise. Killing characters for the sake of shock value until they have no main character so they had to pull Dr Gordon out of their asses into this whole thing.

Furthermore, if Hoffman did in fact die in that trap, it would be impossible to prove that Strahm isn’t the accomplice, as all the evidence points to him. Plus, his one suspect was just killed where he last was, which is very suspicious to the people who already suspect him.

Funny thing is, tracheotomy with a pen is hard for even a medical staff to do. If you stab a little bit too softly it doesnt puncture your throat, if you stab a little too hard it will puncture your throat all the way through. If the pen/object is not sharp enough, it will crush your trachea instead of creating an airway. Of course in a movie we can say that he had a good combination of knowledge and luck, but don't go stabbing people in the throat thinking you're helping :P

Problem with your arguement for the glass coffin trap is that it's all speculative what would have happened had he simply listened to orders. Especially since it wasn't the first time he disobeyed orders to just drop it. It's highly possible that he would have been killed. It's also just as likely that he would have been seen as listening to jigsaw, and thus been more willing to be brought into the "cult" The entire setup OF the trap (each of them against the guy infact) was based on the idea that he would purposefully go against whatever jigsaw told him to do, even if it would have saved him to do so. This is also why people say he should've just gotten into the box. because everything points to the idea that jigsaw would be a 'man of his word' in the situation provided, even if hoffman is basically not 'jigsaw'.

In Amanda's defense, she rigged her traps because Mark was threatening to tell John that she was the reason for his unborn son's death. I know that John knew this already, but Amanda didn't and was scared of him finding out. That's not to say she didn't rig a few things, John did too, like in SAW 2, it was Amanda's job to ensure that Matt's son survived the house and got out. Otherwise, John couldn't have promised they would find him in a 'safe' place. It's because of that, I feel Mark is the only one who rigged things.

That' also what I believe. I really can't imagine Hoffman would have let Strahm survive - and if, he would never let him leave. Strahm knew to much, and would have never give into Hofmans idea of justice. The only thing I can imagine is that he would have used Strahm as puppet, forcing him to do whatever needs to be done to divert suspicion from Hofman. It's really a shame in my opinion. At 6:02 in this video, you see Hoffman pick up a ring with a piece cut out of it. My guess is that this is the ring which was in the guy's mouth. Sure, it would still be difficult to pull out, but you could pull it through your teeth and unhook it, rather than having to rip out your entire jaw, so I don't think this part of the trap was necessarily impossible.

I firmly believe that from the way Hoffman was speaking on the tape he was trying to get Strahm to join him and become a Jigsaw killer. The coffin seemed like a twisted version of the trust fall. He wanted Strahm to see he wasn't completely untrustworthy. Also look at Hoffman as the room was crushed, Hoffman turns away in remorse when Strahm is killed. It's directly stated in an interview by the actor that "He had a consciousness at some points". I find the constant repeating of "Do you trust me?" as a covert way of trying to plead with Strahm to give his way of justice a chance otherwise why repeat it so often? You might argue his speech at the end of "Your legacy will become mine" is more of him saying he has a plan for both outcomes, live or die. (This is a cut content related thing so it's not 100 percent valid) Remember the original ending of Saw 5 was that Strahm would have beat Hoffman to death in the glass coffin room, it would have shown Strahm was capable of being a killer for the sake of his own version of justice. Also we saw in the original glass coffin in Saw 4 there's a key inside of it, Hoffman might have removed it but the only purpose a key inside the coffin would serve would be to open the coffin from the inside meaning if Hoffman had doubts about killing him he could still open the coffin if he wanted to.

I feel like there are more things that could be done in the classroom trap for more chances of survival. The biggest obstacle is the jaw ring, and if that was removed, it would be best to hold that piece back where it was to hold the blood in, but more importantly to at least make discernable noises. Second, while there are mesh cages over the windows, there are still many pieces of furniture in the room which could be used to smash the windows open. If lucky, he could just jump out of the room onto the ground outside if it was low enough, but if not, then he would have to call for help. That's all I got. Despite these few more things for survival, I'm pretty sure it's all for naught

Everyone forgets Adam from the first Saw film. There’s NO WAY John didn’t think about the risk of the key going down the drain, and the game would have played out very differently if Adam had the key from the start. Other tests of John have the victim screw themself over by conscious actions, not by unconscious spasms as they slip underwater. It was always intended that Adam was to be shot by Lawrence and die, or some other horrible fate.
