The meta data the video is embeded with should be required to be traceable that the video was altered or created with AI, rather than created naturally, but who knows...

I'd be embarrassed to admit how far off I was. In my defense, I think I modeled my mental image after other grads who I knew. Still have lingering doubts (hopes?) as to whether that was actually him.

That i believe.. if this guy loves anything in this world, he needs to destroy this tech. We will end up in war if someone DeepFakes POTUS and puts words in his mouth like, "i'm going to launch nuclear war on China/Russia next friday, they won't know what hit them..." if they don't know it is DeepFake, how are they going to respond..? What is their only response to an eminent threat.. ? They will do a preemptive strike on the USA. bye..bye USA.. It is dangerous and must be destroyed.

As Deepfakes become increasingly more sophisticated, a bevy of smaller studios may afford to make better movies involving stunt doubles. Deepfakes may even be used in traditional animation in tandem with DAIN (Depth Aware INterpolation) so that smaller studios can afford to animate, and with fewer frames.

@@Yawyna124 I also mean implementation in traditional animation, whereby you can animate with DAIN a completely generic character (as in literally just an outline) and deepfake a character design into that shape.

@@Iamwolf134 Yeah 10 years down the line artists will be painting amazing still frames maybe 50 piece an episode, and animators will will play the scenes out live action, render the result and fix the goofs. Will be pretty wild while the transition happens.

The fact that it can do extremely stylized and non human/abstract shapes has such interesting implications for speeding up animation workflows. The idea that, as a solo animator, you could offload the majority of tweening work as an automated process, and just focus on creating high quality key frame moments is incredibly intriguing. Definitely gonna have to give that a whirl.

That one little bit about how you could animate the robot arm was the coolest part of the video for me. If you can make an animation software imitate the movements of a robot, then you could make one robot imitate another, and you would have a learning robot that would be able to watch another and learn from it using vision like a human. of course, this could be used for dangerous purposes as well, but it could also be used for good

It's not that hard to fix. Original important videos are going to be key signed. The ubiquitous public private key will allow you to make sure the video you're watching was produced by the specific individual. AKA presidents, prime ministers, ect.

Hello, I would like to ask you, right now I work on a project of the documentary about my grandfather, and some of the scenes I build in 3D according to took pictures and now I would like to enlive somehow my grandfather from the taken photographies. I have tried the 3D model but there is plenty of time to be like the real physically moving human and finally, it does not look good. Is there any way to use this tool to get move his figure from old photography? Thank you very much for your answer.

@@StormierNik Christ, don't spread things like this. As this technology improves, so will the technology to detect it. Soon, videos may not be reliable in something like a court case, and if anything, that'll be extreme motivation to create an algorithm that can detect whether or not a video is fake. The same has already happened with photos - everyone has access to photoshop and other image editing programs, and people are skilled enough to fool others with photoshopped images. And yet, algorithms already exist, trained to detect where and how an image as been edited.

@@satoripace1753 I spent an hour looking into it. I found it too difficult for a beginner like myself, although I might be able to get it to work with more time. The github page has instructions for running it, and the demo section is the important one. I might make a video eventually of how to do it.

I heard him talking about something injectible, and thought about the formaldehyde in vaccines (which is also a by-product of vitamin C, so isn't bad? And intravenous Vit C like Dr Richard Chang, Phd talks about. Other things in nature, and antibiotics. Anyway, drinking wasn't mentioned. The man who died from fish tank cleaner was, well, unwise!

Nah, videos of him speaking were already available online, and not incredibly difficult to find since he uses his full name in his videos. That said I'm not sure whether he has used his face in a video before. So not a face reveal, but a face debut perhaps lol

I played around with a similar algorithm a while back. It's fun and super easy, highly recommend that more people do it. Fake videos are less likely to pass as real if we all make them. People will learn to be skeptical.

Its still quite a process at home, training a model for a week on high end gaming PC, might work out or not. Lots of frame by frame work to get it really good. Can be done, but its not quite there yet.

Looks like some awesome technology. Powerful stuff. What I sometimes find frustrating about these kinds of presentations, is it appears like everybody can do it. But I have actually NO idea even where to begin. And I'm probably more IT-literate than 95% of humanity. I don't know what a Colab notebook is, I assume I will need some specialized framework or installed environment for this. Is there lots in-depth knowledge and experience required to set this up? Is there a step-by-step guide to show how to use or run a project like this, or detailed guidelines how to create a reproducible environment where someone can run "colab notebooks" (whatever that may be) for themselves? Actually I wouldn't even know what system I would need for this. MacOS, Windows, Linux? Does it run on Android or iOS?

1. Install linux 2. Spend week wrestling with videocard drivers 3. Spend another week with CUDA drivers. If you have AMD, I wish you good luck, you're in for a long time and probably wont manage to do it 4. Get pytorch. You'll still have some hemorroids but you already passed the most difficult parts. 5. Get git and clone repo. Easiest part. 6. Install. More hemorroids 6.5 . Download checkpoint 7. Run. Then migrane because it doesn't work for some reason.

Not completely. You also need a trained actor who is able to speak at the right speed and do the correct movements so it doesn't seem off. You will also need a good writer, as it can be really hard to imitate the way a person talks and structures their sentences, especially most modern politicians all have their own style. If you don't copy that correctly, it won't be convincing.

@@Yahooooogle again. Yes and no. While they can imitate the timbre pitch etc of a person, at least from the clips they show, it's all natural talking, and just how a normal person would speak. At least this AI expects you to speak like a human, not a politician (and especially not a Trump or Boris). It also doesn't write the speeches for you. While there are also generators for writing something in the style of a pre written text, putting in the texts what you want to say still requires some work and also is (for now) nowhere near perfect. And in the end you also still need to put all of it together. Which requires a lot more time and effort than just hiring a writer and actor would (for now) (even if it might be cheaper)

@@Yahooooogle also. The big problem with this tech isn't maibly people trying to put words into politicians mouthes, but instead politicians now being able to say "I never said that. That's just a deepfake. Fake news" to anything they might have said in the past that they shouldn't have.

This will be great for VR Avatar creation on the fly. I use oculus quest and was thinking that it would be cool to have a guardian area that is in VR but still be able to see black and white video outside of the guardian space. as someone walks into the guardian area the camera on the oculus takes their picture and generates a full color. realistic avatar in real time.

You can try this yourself more quickly using the Github's provided Google Colab, and clicking "Open in Colab." The dependencies should already be installed there. From the footage in this video the biggest seams and breaks are evident in 1) non simple backgrounds 2) shifting the head side to side or up and down more than a 30 degrees 3) hair 4) boiling of the feature and constant adjustments that get evident in longer videos
